    That's why I said "poor" service academies. Some years teams like Navy or once in awhile Army or Air Force field decent teams. But the other years they generally are among the nations worst when they are not on.

    Yes...like Western Carolina....or Indiana when they are terrible...or Kentucky when they suck...or Duke when they stink..etc.

    I'd agree with you MCG on Army esp in the last 10 years or so, Navy has recently fielded competitive teams since the current coach came from Georgia Southern where he won a bunch of games and 1AA championships.

    Air Force on the other hand has been a very competitive team for years, in the WAC and then the Mountain West Conference, which while not a BCS conference plays a good level of football and their top teams are competitive with the midlevel BCS conference teams. Air Force has beaten Ohio State in bowl.
