I read something in the local news here this morning that some chap, who lives here in Columbus has a bracket that is perfect at this point, 48 out of 48. That has never happened before anywhere per CBS Sports.
Don, I've seen that online about that bracket...it's pretty amazing. While I'm sure that person probably really did a lot of research and all, there's a bunch of luck going on there as well. As the old saying goes luck is aided by preparation, or something like that!
Looking at the Sweet 16 Chris is going to be tough to catch. BooneDockMuskies 15 teams left Sid 13 teams left Bill 13 teams left Stu 13 teams left Michael #1 12 teams left [This is Gipper's Bracket] Don 13 teams left Bobda 11 teams left Jeremey 10 teams left ...much grief will be handed out at the next Ryckman gathering! Corey 11 teams left Michael #2 (John Deere) ..11 teams left kp 10 teams left TOK 9 teams left...no hope of escaping the cellar here.
Not necessarily...his picks could still go down the tubes from here on in and the points do go up each round. It WILL be tough for me to catch him because most of our picks from here on out are the same...but not all of them.
Also I read that the guy with the perfect (so far) bracket has Gonzaga winning it all. It's possible...but he's still gotta pick 15 close games right to get the perfect bracket.
Va.Tech's Ty Outlaw who was arrested on a misdemeanor possession of marijuana last week when Va.Tech was out on the West Coast for the tourney. He played and will play tonight. I'm not sure where I stand on this, I can guarantee he wouldn't be playing for Notre Dame in the tourney. We've had players in that situation and they've all had to miss games. I don't know if that's the right way to handle these things. Va.Tech and Buzz Williams seem to justify their stand by saying they had him tested by an independent lab and he came back clean so they feel it's OK to play him and that it fits with the University policy regarding misdemeanors.
Gonzaga survived a tough FSU team and moves on to the elite 8 . For awhile there in the 2nd half I thought they were going to blow it.
Go Boilers! I picked Tennessee but so did everyone else. Nice comeback by the Vols but Ryan Cline was money for Purdue toward the end of regulation. On to the Elite Eight for the Boilers.
Tenn snatched defeat from the jaws of victory ... up 2 under 3 seconds and they foul the 3 point shooter .
Both late night games are defensive mud wrestling contests. Oregon is leading Virginia 13-10 with 7 minutes left in the 1st half.
Michigan continues to be the gang that can't shoot straight, while Tech has found it's groove . Same for UVA at the end of the half.
Texas Tech's defense broke M's spirit into a million pieces tonight. Chris Beard is the real deal as a coach. Good Luck to Sparty and Stu's Boilermakers.
Surprised they made that call at that point in the game...but they were calling close fouls all night on both teams.
