 We've had Manny Ramirez and Daryl Strawberry; Jim Thome and Juan Marichal; even the Lambs had Joe Namath... I don't want any of them...
I had forgotten that Marichal pitched for the Dodgers. Was it early or late in his career. Wasn't John Roseboro the other participant in the infamous fight?
 :x Marichal played for the Dodgers at the very end of his career. Dodger fans were merciless in their treatment of him, despite Vin Scully begging them to treat him well. It was the ONLY time I ever heard Dodger fans ignore Vinny. They hated Marichal and never forgave him... Ironically, Roseboro forgave him years later and the two became friends...
My memory is vague, but I seem to recall Roseboro going after him with a bat, ready to beat him with it, until someone stopped him.
Interesting article about this event: https://abcnews.go.com/Sports/juan-marichal-clubbed-john-roseboro-50-years-ago/story?id=33234379
That was a really interesting article. I vaguely remember the incident but didn't know that they later became friends. Thanks
