I thought at 2-1 we might have some magic left but when we gave up that bomb to Petersen I thought we were done.

It was a lot to ask of Verlander or really any pitcher to just shutout the opponent for 6 or 7 innings, but I thought he could maybe do that and that the 1-0 would hold up. But I could tell he didn't have it by the time he took the mound in the 6th, he'd lost just enough of his sharpness to give the Dodgers the opening that they needed.

After that our BP struggled and the Dodgers BP shined. I thought when Roberts took out Hill again that it was a mistake, you could tell Hill wasn't very happy when he wiped out the Gatorade in the dugout. But every move Roberts made worked out, even going with the closer for 2 innings.

    Game 7. bring it on!

    :D

I haven't missed one inning of any playoff game. How big is this?

    - The first World Series Game 7 at Dodger Stadium...ever.

    - The first Game 7 between 100 win teams since 1931.

    - All Dodger pitchers are available, including Kershaw and Wood.

    - Last night's game didn't sell-out, because of inflated ticket prices.

    - There are still 14,000 unsold tickets one hour before the game.

    - Two seats behind home plate sold for $117,000.00

    - These two teams really don't like each, but the brawl will have to wait. Today's game is simply too important...

Astros WIN, Astros WIN!!! Can you believe it. Charlie Freakin' Morton was lights out, Astro's jump on Darvish and then just win with that unusual line up of pitchers.

What a great World Series. Both team have a lot of great young players and will be competing for quite awhile.

It's been a long time coming.

I moved to Houston as a 12 y/o in 1959 and at the time I was a Dodger fan. Duke Snider was my hero, l was big fan of Koufax and Drysdale and the Dodgers had so many great players in those days. Walt Alston was one of the all time great managers.

But I adopted the AAA (American Association) Houston Buffs who at the time were a Cubs affiliate, but we went to a lot of their games. Then the Colf .45s and of course we started going to those game, I was a dual fan through most of the 60's I just couldn't give up my Dodger fandom while guys like Koufax, Drysdale, Tommy and Willie Davis, Maury Wills, John Roseboro, etc were still there. Larry Sherry 1959, what a WS.

My brother and I were in the Dome in 1967 when Don Wilson pitched the first indoor no-hitter in history against the Braves and he struck out Hank Aaron to end the game.

I remember the year we rented the Big Unit who came in and was something like 12-0 or 12-1 and pitched us into the playoffs where we met Mr. Kevin Brown who we could not hit.

We had a series of playoff failures with the Braves, their pitching staff was just too good for our guys..even though Biggio and Bagwell were future HOF they couldn't hit those Braves pitchers.

Finally 2005 we assembled a great team, Roger Clemens and Andy Pettite came how to link up with Roy Oswald. We had Biggio, Bagwell, Berkman , Lights out Brad Lidge...then the humiliation of the sweep by the Sox.

I pretty much gave up when Jim Crane bought the team and gutted and we weren't even a good AAA club and lost 100+ games 3years in a row and most of those years I couldn't name more than a couple of players on the team.

But what a glorious year this was, I waffled big time in the middle of the summer when we hit the doldrums and I can't say I was confident going into the playoffs. The Indians owned us during the regular season and our bullpen was sketchy at the best. But the Yankees who we did well against during the regular season somehow beat the Indians and the rest is history.

My boyhood team vs the Astros.. What a series, long time coming. This must be what Jif felt like when the Sox finally came through or Wendy and Sid when the Cubs won last year.

The now famous June 2014 SI Cover predicting the Astros to win the 2017 WS and featuring George Springer who just happened to end up the MVP.

I laughed when it came out, we'd been so miserable I wasn't sure a few high draft choices could fix it in a generation much less 3 years.

The Big Parade is going on right now. School is out, tons of kids downtown, a couple of my employees are in the crowd. I'm home watching it from the comfort of my living room. Only player not here is Verlander who is getting married this weekend.

I thought I'd share with you a picture of Carlos Correa's new finance , Miss Texas 2016. Danielle Rodriguez. He proposed to her on the infield at Dodger Stadium after the game 7 clincher, something like a 6 carat diamond!

    Kate's got competition!
