It would seem like that at this point there is no going back for the Big 10 or any other conference who shut it down.
Alabama has surged to the top of the 2021 recruiting rankings, just slipping past Ohio State who has been #1 for quite awhile in the 2021 cycle. I think the Buckeyes have lost 2 verbals recently that might have given the Tide an opening, I think one of those kids flipped to Alabama.
Well the AP pre-season poll is out and apparently they didn't get the memo that Ohio State and the rest of the Big 10 won't be playing, nor the memo on the Pac12. Like other schools, Alabama is experiencing a spike in Covid cases amongst students and the are shutting down the bars. ____ TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Starting at 5 p.m., all bars in Tuscaloosa will closed for the next 14 days in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the area. The decision by the city, in collaboration with the University of Alabama, was announced by Mayor Walt Maddox during a press conference Monday morning. In addition to bars being closed the next 14 days, bar services in restaurants will also be suspended for 14 days. In addition, all bars services in restaurants will be suspended for the next 14 days. Terry & Bill, Ironically I watched that game yesterday as well on Hulu. Bill from the time of your posting, you are becoming a night owl? Joe Burrow, an Ohio lad had a great game as usual. I am looking forward to watching him with the Bengals this fall.

I agree Don, leagues aren't changing their minds at this point. Lawsuits are a waste of time and money.
Don, I have always been pretty much a night owl and in retirement when time doesn't mean as much it comes out even more. We kind of aim for midnight but frequently it slips to sometime between one and two.
I agree Stu, this whole Spring thing hinges on what happens with the SEC & ACC completing their seasons? If they are unable to complete their seasons, we many not see any spring ball period.
A lot of people think playing a 8 or 10 game Spring Schedule then a Fall Schedule is too much for the players bodies to handle. I do think though if they had a somewhat expanded Spring Drills where teams are allowed to "Scrimmage" other conference teams, maybe 4 scrimmages or so. That would seem to be a good thing, give the teams time to develop some younger players and since there will not be a Nat'l Championship in the offering that at least they get to play some games.
Apparently Seniors who take advantage of the extra year of eligibility in 2021 won't count against the 85 man scholarship limit. It will be interesting to see how many teams bring back these seniors. Certainly many of them will be leaving and attempting to make it in the NFL, but we've always had kids who due to injury petition the NCAA for an extra season of eligibility. I don't actually expect a lot of these kids to take advantage of it if they get to play in 2020. Big 10 and Pac12 players might be more likely to take advantage of it.
23 of the AP Pre-Season AA team will not be playing college football this fall. Combination of players from leagues who won't be playing and players who have opted out for the season. 23 preseason All-Americans not slated to play
So what. This virus has affected millions. Most, and I mean 90% most survived, got over it, and are fine. No different than the last 50 years. People are stronger and more resilient since then. It is what it is. Move forward. No fear.
