I think so far the ACC and SEC are planning to play. I don't know about the Big 12.

Obviously all this can change in a heartbeat.

Another question, if they do play do you think it affects the ACC decision for 10 + 1 or Notre Dames decision to play a full ACC schedule or would they consider dropping out since all the other Midwest schools are not playing?

Given the current atmosphere in which we find our society, I would not recommend any school take the risk regardless whether the decision is argued to be correct or incorrect. As you point out, lawsuits is only one part of the overall destruction that will be cast upon any person or organization that is unlucky enough for allowing someone to make their own evaluation and decision, but ends up getting very sick and/or dying. Social media and MSM will try to destroy anyone with whom they find disagreement.

If the ACC plays I would be shocked if the Irish drop out. They have worked hard on their plan/protocols and I believe they want to give it ago and the players have issued a statement that they want to play as well.

Bill, thanks for the stance. I stay away from the back room for a reason.

I imagine there are litigation partners in prestigious law firms whose major client is a Power 5 university who are browsing the web for Caribbean second home condos in anticipation of a boost in future revenue.

Coach Spurrier called a few minutes ago. Said the SEC and ACC should just play their seasons and winners face off for national title because one conference was going to win it anyway.

I imagine we all are going to see a number of decommitments before this is all over. This darn COVID 19 Virus is causing a great deal of unrest across the board.:(

I'm not sure why this is going to cause players to back out of their verbals. The class of 2021 is set to play next year so schools not playing this year don't really change things for them. I guess we might see more kids want to stay closer to home due to the virus. But still don't think it's going to have a major impact on recruiting in general. It has hurt ND because of the no campus visits, but that's different from teams deferring the season to the Spring.

It's way too early to really count on any of these "commitments". Wait for signing day, that's the only way to be sure and with the transfer rules like they are now, even that doesn't mean much.

Local Negative Sports Columnist, Jerome Solomon, took off on the schools who are playing today .

On the same page as that was this from Texas A&M parents of football players. I wonder if he'll be calling out parents who allow their sons to play?

Meantime A&M players’ parents have gotten in on the social media action this week, primarily to back the players’ movement of angling to start the season in late September.

“(Aggie football) parents want our sons to play this fall,” wrote Jenni McCollum, mother of A&M offensive lineman Ryan McCollum of Klein Oak. “We have complete confidence that Texas A&M University and the SEC will continue to provide a safe environment that mitigates risk for our sons.”

Possible Non-Conf opponents...most think Texas will play UTEP before going to Lubbock to play Texas Tech to open the season.

Update on Big 12's probable non-conference slate
    BAY: Louisiana Tech?
    ISU: ???
    KU: Southern Illinois
    KSU: Arkansas State
    OU: Missouri State
    OSU: Tulsa
    TCU: Tennessee Tech
    TEX: UTEP?
    TTU: Houston Baptist
    WVU: Eastern Kentucky

Is this the earliest the P12 has ever been out of the championship discussion? As of yesterday, no 2020 CFB for the Westernmost conference.

btw - I can't wait to see the new banner at the stadium next year: 2020 was our first undefeated season in about 90 years! We have yet to see, but it could also have the tagline "2020 co-national champs" if everything falls just right.

A remarkable year for not only the Cougar football team, but joining them in having elite sports seasons are the men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams. Definitely an unprecedented season of championship sports.

I do recognize that none of the above accolades included actual on-field success, but anytime my school is has an equal record as Alabama, Clemson, USC, ND, tu, or OSU one really understands the immense impact of the year's efforts.

I am trying to look at the bright side too Kes. We do not get drubbed by Ohio State and the B10 will not float to the top of the fish tank on its back during the bowl season. Plus, it is heartwarming to see AJ trying to patch things up with his old flame, the Texas Longhorns.

Ohio State's Ryan Day wants Big 10 Spring Football to start right away in early January and end before the NFL draft. He want's early enrollee's for 2021 to be eligible to play in the Spring.

Maybe they could have a Pac 12/Big 10 Rose Bowl at the end of the Spring Season. That would be interesting.
