And now back to the original topic. I read this little gem this past Sunday in the St. Pete Times: http://www.tampabay.com/opinion/columns/what-gop-gets-wrong-on-the-meltdown/1107986 It explains very well some of the myths thrown out there by the GOP in regard to the causes of the mess that Obama inherited. From the article: "There are three reasons that Republicans in Congress won't support financial reform: They want to deny President Barack Obama any legislative victories, they fundamentally object to regulations that protect borrowers and investors from being preyed upon, and they want to encourage rich campaign contributions from Wall Street. Any other story is full of holes." I'm sure a few hackles will be raised by this one. By the way...I saw that idiot Shelby on GMA this am and he has that acerbic, partisan politics at all costs look written all over him. He couldn't really give a straight answer when George Stephanopolous asked him about that. I know... I know.....for you guys on here if Limbaugh or Beck doesn't say it then it must be false. It's putrid how our Congress goes about it's business today in a blind...."kill the other guy" mentality no matter what the ideas are or what is good for the general population.
I kinda like some of the commentary on your link; Of course it's all politics by the Republicans whilst the Dems are trying to save the country...Oh, wait; http://freakonomics.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/07/13/two-thumbs-down-on-the-financial-reform-bill/
This is why it is so FRUSTRATING trying to discuss anything with you. I just put up two posts stating that THEY CLAIM THEY NEVER DISCUSSED ANYTHING WITH THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT. Let me try again; THEY DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE PRESSING THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT If you know something different please prove it.
Ok, my friend...didn't mean to get testy...but sometimes you can be frustrating. I realize that is the allegation...but what I read is that they denied it.
