Bronco Mendenhall to UVA. A bit of a shock to me, he seems like a BYU lifer, and I am not really sure it's a better job.
I just read via ESPN that Steve Spurrier is the one pushing Muschamp towards South Carolina, I find this surprising unless Muschamp has naked pictures of Spurrier and losing at the golf course. I can't see him as an improvement for the cocks......
Also had the opportunity to listen to the University of Miami welcome Mark Richt officially as the coach of the Miami Hurricanes today. He may be the most selfless coach to attain that position in 90 years in listening to him today. Somewhere former university president Donna Shalala who is now chief of the Clinton library did a double back flip as Richt spoke of God, family and affecting young men's life's as his priorities in life. Shalala the former priestess of Marxism 101 had to be hissing and spitting venom as he talked about what is normally considered the SEC values of being born again and traditional core traits of a man and wife and setting players up to be prepared for life. South Beach is going to receive revival if it's ready or not...... Heck, AJ may even say a positive word about the Canes one day....... Nahhhhhhhhhh......
Looks like Chris Ash is going to be the new coach at Rutgers! He helped us immensely as a co-defensive coach with Luke Fickel. He will be missed!
No shock Kirby Smart to Georgia. Big shock Will Muschamp to So.Carolina. What are they thinking? Great DCoord, but at UF where he could recruit the state of Florida one of the premier talent laden states for college talent and the complete support $$$ of the AD he couldn't build a good Offensive Staff or get a decent offense on the field in 4 years. So at So.Carolina a state with 1/4 maybe of the the talent they have in Florida, and having to play the same schedule as he did in Fla...why do they think he can be successful? Tom Herman signs a new deal with Houston. Not a guarantee that he's there for a long term, but he'll be back next year that's for sure which is good news for Houston the Univ and the City.
I'm willing to bet that Muschamp is stubborn enough to still believe he was doing it the right way. Well.... all you have to do is look at UF since the Georgia game and you have the team that South Carolina is now destined to be. A perennial Gator Bowl participant.
Clay Helton and So.Cal pretty much dumped all of Sark's guys. It'll be interesting to see who he brings in for replacements.
There are a lot of rumors flying around regarding the Texas staff. It's clear that Strong will be back, and also that there will be a new OCoord. Sonny Cumbie the TCU Co-OCoord is the leading candidate. But he's also under consideration for some HC jobs as well. So that might not happen for awhile.
maybe someone (a delusional South Carolina fan) thinks that South Carolina is some type of Beverly Hills compared to the 'backwoods' of Auburn, AL? I don't get it either. They're both f(cking outhouses but the Auburn campus is much prettier. This is playing out for another Decade of Dominance for Florida in the SEC East. Richt out, this bonehead in... Tennessee is our only hope Obi-Wan.
Richt out, Spurrier and Pinkel retired.... Stubborn bonehead at S.C..... This shapes up like the 90s.... UT vs. UF for the SEC East marbles every fall.
Muschamp on the So.Car. Job... "The ceiling is limitless," Muschamp said of his new surroundings at South Carolina. "We're about winning championships here." Muschamp also took solace in that he left Fla a better team than the one he inherited. So the one he inherited went 18-8, then when he had more of his players and fewer of Meyers players he went 10-13. So how does that square with him leaving it better than he found it? He sure didn't leave McElwain a good situation at QB.
By drooling all over and completely misjudging Jeff Driskel Muschamp cut his Qb depth by running off Jacoby Brissett. Then I can't fault him for the dumbness of Will Grier and being left with Neon Treon as the only Qb. It's been a mess.... and I hope next year we can have just decent Qb play if not great.
DJ Durkin has hired 2 former HC's for his staff. Scott Schafer who was let go by Syracuse is his DCoord and Mike London who resigned at UVA will coach his DL. I was listening to a XM show where they were talking about 1st time HC and how it's helpful for them to have some guys on the staff who have been HC before. So he has 2 of them now.
Well Charlie Strong struck out on getting Sonnie Cumbie away from TCU to take over the offense. Reportedly Tulso Co-OCoord Sterlin Gilbert is has already been to Austin to interview and is eager for the job. Also I can't believe I'm going to type this but several Aggies I know swear that Sumlin is talking to Steve Spurrier about coming to College Station to take over the offense for the Aggies. I really can't believe it, told my buddies they were nuts if they really thought it would happen, they steadfastly stuck to it's a possibility.
Terry, That talk is all based on Sumlin and OBC being pretty good friends and also attending the same function this week. Also, it has been said that OBC is already restless and wants to work again. I think it's a very very unlikely thing to happen, but I'd take him in a heartbeat for OC!.. Press conferences would sure be fun again!
But the real indicator is where is Spurrier's wife. Canvass the real estate agents. That is where the real story is.
Not so fast my friend.......taking a page from ISIS....we (NU) have finally cracked into the inner workings of the "U"....Mark Richt (Born in Omaha, NE) will make all Cornhuskers proud by installing JIHAD within the walls of Coral Gables.....
