I'm really hesitant to post this because I hate getting folks mad at me (and it's Christmas :) ) but I feel pretty strongly about this.

You moderators do a great job and put in a lot of extra work running this thing.

And the post I am questioning is by one of the classiest guys on the board, who I consider one of my many friends here.

But please folks, we really need to think twice before we do any blatent name calling...it really will poison this board and cause bad feelings if allowed. :(

Stu..."burp"...maybe you have a good idea....

I agree that namecalling is sorta pathetic....the result of not getting your way or winning your debate as far as I am concerned.

Some resort to that and I never see it as a positive for them.

On OSU's schedule you are correct on Washington and I do not criticize OSU for scheduling them and in fact I don't criticze OSU's scheduling practice in general but my criticism is more directed at their being annointed yet again for the second year in a row as the #1 best team in America heading into the bowls when their schedule is suspect in what has the appearance of being a weak conference.

Last year they certainly had more of a claim on that #1 ranking but what I am saying is that this year that relatively weak schedule has not allowed OSU to demonstrate that without doubt they belong in the NC game.

And Stu...look the other way....I find it amusing that BT loves to stick it in my face that OSU is playing for this title when UF is not and in reality what I see between the two is that OSU is a favorite to become a three time bridesmaid in an NC game between FB and BB whereas Florida became a three time back-to-back-to-back Champion when presented with the same opportunity. Good job pointing that out BT!

Stu, you've demonstrated again why I think you are a special person.

I agree with every thought you had above and will leave it at that for now.

Except to hope that everyone on this forum reads your thoughts and gives a lot of thought to how they handle themselves here.

    Merry Christmas

.....asks a very successful lawyer which prompts me to ask in return, What's your angle?

Seriously, Gip and Stu, good thoughts worth keeping at the top of our to-do list in 2008.

BT...I am sure I would have mixed feelings if it were Florida in the same boat but seriously even if Ohio State loses this game they have still accomplished quite a lot.

No one really mentions it but I'll bet it is an NCAA record to appear in the FB-BB-FB title games in succession as OSU has.

As you say....in the New Year's spirit....Good Luck!

Mixed feelings for what? The LSU kids and the Ohio State kids are where every college football player in the country wants to be right now....they have earned the right to play for the national title.

They will have given the tens of thousands of the gleeful Buckeye Nation the opportunity to revel in the French Quarter celebrating a great season and looking forward to a great match-up in college football's most important event - the national title game. No mixed feelings about that....

Win, lose or draw these kids will have had a magnificent year and I've never been more proud of a football team or staff.

I was trying to say mixed feelings if a loss occurs.

Even with a loss at least you got there...and that I agree is a great thing.
