Well Charlie says he left it stocked and that might be true to some extent. But the recruiting can get to the level of Ohio State/Alabama with the right guy at the helm. That could be Tom Herman.
Ohio State and Alabama are who they are because they leave the states of Ohio and Alabama. I don't see how in-state ties help him with that one. As long as A&M can sell the SEC and Texas is offering that orphanage of a conference, I just don't see how they'll ever truly 'own the state' more than they already do. You can only sign so many and there's always those in-state kids who are going to go to Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, USC etc.
