I want to believe you guys. I really do. But this team looks whipped coming out of the tunnel each week. There is zero emotion. Where is the passion? To me that comes from confusion. There is a lot of talk that CW has segregated this team into two groups, the freshmen and sophomores in one and everyone else in the other. The former are the chosen ones, the latter are the stepchildren. I'm reading this from a lot of sources. That may explain the mid season defections which are very rare. Some of the biggest critics are former players like Aaron Taylor who would know trouble when they see it. I can handle the losing when I see effort, passion, persistence and gradual improvement. I see none of that. Neither do you.
I.. <t>Have been with them since I was 13 and never miss a telecast and buy their gear. Love the school and have been there numerous times. I will stand by them no matter what but refuse to wear Rose colored glasses when there are obvious problems. That is beyond dumb. Like George I don't see a lick of improvement and that is what bothers me.</t>
Someone else who sees what I see... Shane Walton remains a loyal son of Notre Dame and never misses a game. He's hopeful for the future, but says the team needs to change their attitude before they'll win some games. "The losses don't bother me, it's the way we lose," [Walton] said. "I'm not even talking about the score. I'm talking about the lack of effort on the field. When we played, our coaches used to tell us that we played for all the people who are here right now, and you played for all those people who wore this jersey before you. I think maybe they need to be reminded of that. That's a big burden to carry. I never wanted to disappoint anyone who wore that jersey before me. You don't want to let those guys down. You want to uphold that tradition and be a part of the tradition that's made Notre Dame so great over the years."
