Yesterday LSU put on an amazing display of size and speed. I saw these guys get damned lucky to eek out a win over Florida last year.....just last year.....so I cannot understand how in one year they grew so large and became so fast. They more resemble a pro team than any college team I can remember recently. And one thing I noticed when they played Florida is that they are so well coached and it was again very apparent yesterday. Bama hung right there with these guys so I can say it is one rematch that will be fun to watch. Georgia??? Auburn???? Upsets?????
Alabama hung with them? Alabama controlled the play and almost the entire game was played in LSU's half of the field. If Alabama didn't suit up Shanky McHook at kicker, they win that game. Bama's QB made a rather poor showing standing in the pocket that night as well. Those two teams, IMHO, are the two clear best teams in college football.. Although I still contend that Boise can beat anyone on any given day when they are healthy. (glossed in the BCS media is the game they lost was played by an injury gutted team)
Corey, I agree that Boise can beat anyone on any given day, but I don't think anyone gets a pass because of injuries.
Boise has injuries greater than the other major teams out there? BTW count me as one of those who hopes that OK State whups the tar out of OU and slips past Alabama in the BCS polls.
Terry, You know my stance on the rematch, but is that why you want OSU in the BCSCG? I think the rematch is a bad precedent, but I also think Alabama is one of the two best teams in the country. That's why we need a playoff!
 Okie State would get murdered by either LSU or Alabama. I hate having a conference rematch in the title game, but this was just one of those weird years. All the contenders had their chance, but slipped on a banana peel... Out here in the west, it's obvious that the best team out here at the end of the season...and maybe the only one that could have beaten one of the Top two, was USC. Since they're on probation, that leaves nobody for the BCSCG, but it does create a fantastic Rose Bowl with Oregon vs. Wisconsin...
Jim, I don't really think that this was a "wierd" year. In fact, the inevitable has occurred. It was not coincidence that going into last weekend the 3 top teams in the polls were LSU, Ala. and Ark. All three oversign extensively. Every 4 years these schools have an "additional" recruiting year that leaves them with more talent and depth than schools that do not. I'm now thinking that Urban Meyer could see the handwriting on the wall when he decided to leave Fla. The Gators have chosen not to treat players with the dignity of disposable diapers and that means that the playing field was no where near level. The championship game might as well be competitive between 2 oversigning titans. Take the game for what it is. I'll enjoy games like the Rose Bowl much more than some fraud championship.
When I watch a NC game I am expecting to see the two best teams in the country. This year that is what I will see. That's good enough for me.
