This is precisely what pisses me off. It is simply assumed that these SEC teams are unbeatable and that ND is here on some kind of divine pass. Ya'll on notice. If Notre Dame wins this game I will be insufferable!
Tom, Duly noted..and honestly, not even necessary.. That being said. Right now, in this state, I'm the guy everyone is avoiding. I've been fair all these years. Even the points in which I made that they found contempt, history has proven me to be correct. Over holiday banter in which I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving and get the hell out of there because I was sick, I endured 30 straight minutes of what a POS the Irish are, how our schedule sucks blah blah blah.. I'm even getting it from the Barners. It's awful. I just smile, say good luck and we'll see y'all real soon. It's taken several weeks, but people are now starting to notice. No one wants to actually talk ball with me. They don't ask me about my team. They claim they already know. Fair enough. I'm normally all about the good natured ribbing and fun. Hell, me hosting the weekly game week/hate threads should be proof of that welcoming all sides... But personally, about the Irish.. especially around town, I've been quiet. It's starting to bother people. It should. So I'll let them talk and talk and talk. I'll let them inform me all about our inferiority and special dispensation. I just keep smiling.. We'll see how it comes out. I'd say if the 'miracle in Miami' were to take place and the Irish somehow manage to squeak out a win, George is not going to be the only one who is insufferable... and I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure George is aboard on this... 99.9% of you'd have not a thing to worry about. FYI, no one wished me a Happy Thanksgiving, and not one person thanked me for sharing my son on the only holiday that is mine. (I had him for a total of 4 hours)...I gotta big memory..and when the time calls for it, a much bigger mouth. I just choose to use it more wisely these days. Right now, there's no point in talking. It'll all settle itself soon enough.
Tom.... in Corey's cartoon photo, Georgia's inferior stats from the past 20 years are brought forth..... post SEC Title game.... for what reason? The Dawgs are old news now.... probably headed to the Cotton Bowl.
Saban has 5 weeks to get his team ready. If the Irish can overpower the Tide they will deserve all of the accolades and you guys can crow all you want....deservedly so. But if this ND team can't get it done against yet another SEC/National Champion what is the trade-off? Do we have to continually hear about how it's all run by the SEC.... that the champs aren't legitimate?
Dave, no need to explain anything to me. As much as you have been warned and you thumbed your nose at those warnings, I will turn a blind eye to any rash of s#!+ served up in your direction. Have at it boys!
I have no idea how we'll even have a chance to compete. I think I'll start a prayer chain or something.
Why would Notre Dame fear Alabama? Notre Dame is undefeated. Should they be concerned? Yeah I think so, but then I am concern about Alabama in this game. Our defense is good but we are very vulnerable to the short passing game. Our run defense is pretty good and long pass defense is good too. Take a look at how many 3rd down conversions we give up. I'll bet it is pretty bad. Corey, I think you need to change where you are hanging out. I suggest getting off of the Beltline and moving toward Bank Street!

haha KP, You being the only person on this board who will truly understand this reference. The people I 'hang out' with are not only on Bank St, they own Bank St. Ditto the downtown renovation groups (of all variety). Ditto that for large chunks of 6th Ave (US 31), Ditto that for the Beltline. Funny enough, I spent a good bit of time today on Bank St. at the family office. From the judges you just voted for, to the Commissioners whose name appears on your tag receipts and business licenses... It's all 'in the family' or friends of the family 'round here. Most all of my actual friends live in Madison or Huntsville. I have very few friends in Decatur, yet I now know almost everyone. There are reasons. I just don't post them here. It's one of the reasons why there's 2 Facebook pages for me. Most of the folks I spend my time with run or appear on air for both our local NBC or CBS affiliates, or they sell missiles or they design them.
Corey, Ha I work with the missle sellers. Anyway, I was referring to the friends that were saying that Alabama would beat Notre Dame badly. This will be a good game and i am looking forward to it greatly. If your friends own Bank Street then they realize that too and they are just yanking your chain. If they hang out on the Beltline (Martins?) then they may really think Alabama will win easily. Do you know where "Our Place" is?
LOL if you work with the guys selling missiles then there's a decent chance I have incriminating photos of a few of them. What's the old saying? "What happens in Nashville stays on Corey's flash drive." It's something like that. Oh I think you'd be surprised at some of the big money former KA's from Alabama and their beyond over inflated sense of self. For a guy who can talk as much as I can, and I can, living in Alabama took the talk out of me so to speak. There are often days in which I don't voice more than 100 words to anyone. I just listen, and learn and watch. At first, I did that for survival reasons. Now, it's mostly entertainment. My favorite is when they bitch about the 'weak conference Notre Dame plays in.' I literally have to chew through my lips at times. You can take the boy out of the country, but not the country out of the boy, even when they're men. Some of the life long, non-transplant dyed in the wool Tide fans age 40 to 60 have some REAL plumbs. 'USC is nuttin' but a bunch of NFL talent playing in a girl's conference.' 'The Big12 is just Oklahoma and nobody.' Then 10 minutes later in the same conversation, 'I respect Texas. I also expect us to whoop 'em whenever we play them but Texas is a damned fine program.' At times, I'll dip an oar into the water to gently steer the conversational canoe toward the rapids purely for entertainment purposes. By and large, I just listen and learn...
Corey, Corey, Corey, any self respecting Alabama fan that doesn't realize that Notre Dame is not in a conference deserves to be .....well they must be an Auburn fan.
Those are fighting words down here. You over-estimate many of your brethren. Don't worry, ND has some God awful fans. Hell, we have more of them.
