Some positive stuff for Neb. They have recruited a QB named Bubba Starling who chose them over ND. Great kid, he was named the #1 high school baseball player last week and is a pretty good candidate for a high MLB draft pick. Here's the question given this review below on his passing, why can a kid throw a baseball so well and with velocity, yet doesn't have the arm strength (yet) to throw a football well?
Wish I'd known you were in Ann Arbor, Bobda...I drove up Friday night with my Dad...took in the game and the Glee Club Fall Concert. Would have tried to hook up with you and tried to help drown your sorrows.
Terry, It's not unusual for elite pitchers to have trouble throwing a football. Remember Jeff Granger? He was an Aggie pitcher in the 90s that also played QB for us. He had similar problems. It's because of the arm motions. They are very different from baseball to football, and it's not that easy to switch back and forth.
Now that you mention it Joe Mauer was a HS AA QB and the #1 overall football recruit as well...signed with FSU but as we all know went to MLB.
I recruited that kid, he should've gone to ND but that's just me. So that Michigan game killed me in the fantasy playoffs. Kes had Robinson running wild and I had Wisconsin's defense... dammit.. Let's hope Bama sets the world right and beats Auburn with LSU losing to Arkansas this weekend.
