They keep showing PSU parents. That’s tiring and stupid…and I guess OSU players don’t have any parents.
I cannot stand Rape State and I think their coach is a phony douche. Bucks better not let this one get away or their AD will be receiving a scathing email from me tomorrow!
KP, Profanity prohibition thread: Reminder on Language. Think it was instituted since every reply to Dave on the political fotum usually contained some variation of a f*** you reply.
Great battle between Ohio State v Penn St. Buckeyes earned the win but Penn State’s red zone defense was magnificent.
I would have been surprised if tonight's game was a blowout as some seemed to think would occur. Penn State is always a challenge for us here and in Happy Valley. As Bobda pointed out above, Penn State's defense was awesome. I am just happy we won.
I really thought the Buckeyes would roll those guys. I see that Ole Miss lost today. SEC West might come down to the Auburn / Alabama game.
It seems like there is a lot of parity this year in college football I wonder how many couches were burned tonight in East Lansing!
I thought Virginia had one of the better defenses in the ACC. I guess the defensive strategy in ACC football is “hope you trip”.
Conference rankings in the AP top 25. Think they need to redefine who are the Power 5 conferences. SEC -- 6 (Nos. 1, 3, 12, 13, 15, 18). Big Ten -- 5 (Nos. 5, 6, 9, 19, 22). Big 12 -- 3 (Nos. 4, 11, 14). American -- 3 (Nos. 2, 20, 23). Sun Belt -- 2 (Nos. 21, 24). Mountain West -- 1 (No. 25). ACC -- 1 (No. 10). C-USA -- 1 (No. 16). Pac-12 -- 1 (No. 7). Independents -- 2 (Nos. 8, 17).
It's going to be very interesting to see what the CFP committee comes up with it's initial top 4. Georgia is a no brainer, but what about 2,,3,and 4? Cincinnati? Not being a power 5 school and not exactly looking great the last couple of weeks. Barely got by Navy and the final score against a bad Tulane doesn't reflect the game. Alabama, very good but not the same as last season, yet. Ohio State? Loss to Oregon at home. Michigan State great win yesterday. OU, looked bad for a half v KU. Doesn't have a championship defense. I think if they don't have Cincinnati in the top 4,they will be vilified for it
They truth is, every team right now has a little chink in the armor. Georgia has a ridiculous defense, but their offense can be pedestrian. Not sure that will matter, since they get so many opportunities from their D. They are easily #1. The great thing is... there's a lot of ball left for those left wanting a seat at the table (except maybe Cincy). They will knock each other off, and the cream will rise to the top.
You never know what is going to happen week to week but Georgia, Michigan St. , Cincy, and probably Oklahoma are the likely participants in the playoffs. Ohio State could derail Michigan State. Alabama will lose at least one more game because I think Georgia will finish undefeated.
Bama vs UGa in the champ game should be quite a chess match. UGa is straight up a team modeled after Saban's original design. Conservative offense that controls the ball with few turnovers, and styfling defense that puts tremendous pressure on the opposing offense causing turnovers. Bama is more offense oriented now, for reasons I'm not close enough to the program to know. For what ever reason they aren't quite as alpha-dog on the defensive side as they were in the past. So can the irresistible force (bama offense) overcome the immovable object (Uga D)??? Should be fun to watch. (for those of us with no dog in the fight!)
Hey Terry... some football statistics I thought you'd find interesting as the Horns get ready to enter the SEC: (really hoping this one doesn't come back to haunt me! )
