Max Johnson throws a game sealing pick for the Aggies. Looks like a Vol win. Switched to Washington /Oregon,just in time to see the Ducks pull off a goal line stand. Up 33 - 29.
Wow, Ducks go for it on 4th and 3, don't make it. Seems like pinning them deep and making them go the length of the field was the smart play.
Unbelievable, 2 passes from Penix and the Huskies score. Now up 36 - 33. They might have scored too quickly. Nix / Ducks have 1:38 for a FG and send it to OT.
Ducks miss the short FG and the Huskies survived. Dan Lanning will get some criticism for that decision to go for it I would imagine. Penix enhanced his Heisman creds today.
Looks like in the end the sky wasn't falling and the Buckeyes just went in there and took care of business. Any injuries? If not it's a heck of a road trip win.
So just looking at the schedule, Iowa at 6-1 after beating Wisconsin looks like a team that could end up 11-1 and play in the Big 10 Championship game. Did you Big 10 guys see that coming? Of course those teams aren't going to roll over and give Iowa those games, but it just feels like it has a high probability of happening.
At the end the Boilers OL is so banged up that they really couldn't develop anything to threaten. In terms of injuries our 3rd RB was concussed early and we were down to our 4th RB in the 1st quarter. Our #4, #5 and a WR got all the carries. Worse yet, at least in my mind, our lockdown corner was taken to the locker room in the 3rd qtr not to return. Hope for the best, fearing the worst with a very good PSU team coming to town this week.
Hopeful we'll be all right. Hayden is certainly very capable...he's only the fourth guy cuz they were trying to preserve his redshirt eligibility. Treyveyon should be back (?). Might even have all 4 available. Good news is that nobody is out for sure. Gotta wait and see with Burke and Egbuka. Fingers crossed. Kinda was hoping for the Boilers to put on a better show.
TOK, Iowa being on top of the BTW is not a major surprise given their weak schedule. Considering how they performed against Penn State and their horrible offense, the surprise would be Iowa being competitive in the BT championship game if they do win the West.
I just thought it was so odd, Iowa was one of the teams who had gambling issues, then of course the terrible offense coached by the HC's son. I thought this season would be a disaster for them. But not so much.
Not much movement in the top10. Washington does jump up and USC plummets. But it's all just fun and waiting for the CFP committee's first rankings that actually mean something. Although by the time that happens there really isn't much if any difference between the AP and the CFP.
I see that Georgia TE, Brock Bowers, had surgery for a high ankle sprain. Something like Tua had a few years ago. Done for the regular season, but hopeful for the playoffs
