I guess I'm not really clear on whether or not the University can do it, even if it's from some "special" fund. The story was first in the Ohio State student newspaper. Don, has the University responded yet as to whether or not they actually paid the fees or what?
Terry, I have not seen any actual response from the university. While I was jesting in my early post, nothing would surprise me anymore.
Here we go again..... <t>George....I have to call you out on this for some splainin:<br/> <br/> "When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation"<br/> <br/> Am I to understand that half the people don't work?<br/> <br/> Or maybe that even if they do work they only want what the otther half have and don't want to work for it themselves?<br/> <br/> Is this just another indictment of the middle class as basically no good lazy SOBs......?<br/> <br/> Man......to be middle class is despicable.</t>
re: Dave  No idea what point you're trying to make. Games to watch this weekend... I'm really curious to see what happens between Oregon and Arizona State. The Duckies have lost only to LSU; which plays punchless Florida at home. ASU has lost only to Illinois; which plays punchless Ohio State at Home. What if Florida and Ohio State have a few punches left? That would scramble a few eggs... I've picked Michigan State to beat Michigan in East Lansing...
... uh.... JO'Co... That would be punchless Tennessee. Florida travels to Auburn this week. Tennessee would be a long shot against LSU.Maybe with Tyler Brey and Justin Hunter playing we win. With Matt Simms in as QB and our best receiver out for the year, we need touchdown Jesus on our side.
Tom, Good luck with LSU......you'll need tons of it and I still think it's not enough. They remind me of the teams we had in 2006 and 2008.....swagger, talent and good coaching all wrapped up into a beast. They are supremely confident and it shows. I thought the Vols would do better last week.....with Tyler Bray. Now?
Big Blow to Husker defense. Jared Crick tore his pectoral muscle and is gone for the season. He was an AA and the heart of the Husker defense. The good news? The Huskers get to play Minn, a truly bad football team.
Well somebody I know looked up whether or not Ohio State can pay student athletes legal bills, and according to the NCAA they can under certain circumstances.
I think I found a worse passing QB than Neb's Martinez....the Cal QB Maynard...that kid was just awful tonight. What happened to Tedford being a QB guru? There have to be at least 20 QB's every year in Cal who are better than that kid.
Dave, Wrong topic for this discussion. It is self-explanatory. I think Jefferson made this statement, could be wrong. I am middle class, as you know.
Tedford is sinking at Cal and he's been sinking for awhile now. I can't think of any reason why Cal doesn't have prime time QBs standing in line. They should be able to recruit outstanding QBs right there in the Bay area near their school.
Talk on the ND BBs has Dayne Crist leaving after the season and transferring to Cal. he has one year of eligibility left.
 That would work. Crist is the prototypical 12Pac QB that has always done well at Cal and throughout the conference. I hope Kelly is anticipating this and has a QB stashed somewhere waiting for the call...
