    Tom,

Oh trust me, I saw that beat down.

I am looking at what Bama has done over the course of the first 6 games.

-The beat Virginia Tech holding them to 64 yards rushing and 91 yards passing. Once again, a really good offense that they dismantled.

-Florida International and North Texas are about the caliber of school that Florida had been playing previous to this and they shut them down. FIU has that super young WR who was shut down.

-They shut down, dismantled and destroyed Arkansas. In Arkansas' other games they have scored 48, 41, 47 and 44 points. Against Alabama they scored 7. They held Arkansas to 254 total yards in the game (63 rushing and 191 passing). Respectable but those guys are putting up video game numbers against everyone else.

-Kentucky was Alabama's worst defensive game to date giving up 301 yards total offense, but most of that yardage came late in the 2nd half after the Tide had rolled out to a 31-6 lead.

-Ole Miss. They just gutted this team. We've covered this.

We'll see this weekend about UF and Arkansas. I will be watching to see how the Gators defense does. This is a lot of fun not having a dog in the fight.

My prediction: UF 42-14 over Arkansas....

Mallet will be throwin and throwin late and the Hogs get a second score vs. the scrubs.

Well this sucks... Mock BCS standings as of now.

    1. Florida
    2. Alabama
    3. Virginia Tech
    4. Texas
    5. Boise State
    6. USC
    7. LSU
    8. Ohio State
    9. Cincinnati
    10. Iowa

How'd Va.Tech slip ahead of Texas?

Hey Corey did you see that tha UAH beat the Irish 3-1 Friday? What's up with that!! Of course we came back and beat them Sat but still quite a kick in the pants to start the season. BTW I looked at the Chargers schedule, is there a team in the nation that has to travel more for games than these guys?

Terry, that BCS ranking will never hold up. Texas will be 2nd or 3rd not Va Tech.

    T,

And as predicted, Boise State will need everyone to lose twice... despite beating Oregon.. who still hasn't been beaten by anyone else.

BTW, watch out for the Ducks. They finally have Nate Costa at QB. He's the guy who was suppose to start each of the last 3 years (including over Dixon) but kept blowing out knees. If they get Bounte and Costa in the same backfield this might be ugly.

As for the Chargers.. its hard to 'like' when ND loses but I smiled a bit when that happened. The Chargers are playing for their lives. They were snubbed by the CCHA in a move that (if you remember) has infuriated everyone but the CCHA. When NCAA selection time comes around, I'd like to see those helping the game rewarded and those not helping the game punished.. but that's in fantasy land. No way the big paychecks in the CCHA get punished for anything.

As for travel, I'd bet that both Alaska teams travel a lot further than they do. UAH is a bus ride anything as far away as Kentucky, Southern Ohio, Indiana or Illinois. Its a quick plane trip to anywhere in the midwest and really not much of a hop to the northeast. Ironically, I believe it was the Alaska school in the CCHA who did the most work to keep UAH out..

They play in a really nice venue that is getting an overhaul. If you want to join any support groups to save UAH hockey, let me know :)
