Best game of the day...what a finish. Lamar Jackson is the real deal, just couldn't quite get it done tonight though.
Indiana beats Mich State? Really? Duke lost to a bad UVA team as well...I guess those guys left it all on the field in South Bend!
Ducks destroyed. Tonight's helmets: https://mobile.twitter.com/COUG_Equipment/status/781236256525004800
J.T. Barrett now holds the all-time record of 58 TDs for the Buckeyes. His first passing TD in the Rutgers game achieved the record, surpassing Bobby Hoying and Joe Germaine. Even more startling is he has done that in just 28 games. J,T, is just a junior and if he decides comes back next year, his record could be one for the books!
Alabama beat Kentucky, but not without our defense getting us the lead via turnovers. Our freshman quarterback is doing okay and we have a stable of young running backs. Our next three games will tell the truth though. We wll have to become more efficient in our passing game, eliminate stupid early mistakes and continue to pressure the quarterback. The margin for error is considerably less in the next 3 weeks. :?
Clemson and Louisville looked very good. They may both belong in the playoffs. Ohio State is rolling. So that may be three of the 4. We'll see. Louisville vs Houston will be interesting. Ohio State vs Michigan another good one. Alabama has ranked opponents for the next 3 weeks. We'll see. 8)
I may have to reconsider my long-held belief that, until there are enough playoff spots available for each of the p5 conference champions, no conference should be awarded more than one playoff berth. However, in light of recent developments I think the Pac-12 may well deserve being left out for Ohio State and Michigan or Clemson and Louisville. I'll have to revisit this later in the year after everything develops.
Kesley, I'm glad there are more coming over to the idea that the playoffs should include the 4 best teams. I agree that as of today Louisville and Clemson look like 2 candidates, Im not sure yet about Michigan. Let's wait til they play Ohio State and see. Of course there is still a lot of the season to go.
Kp, not exactly endorsing this, unless circumstances warrant (such as the hated huskies being eligible). Except in this rare circumstance, i promise to be just as obstinate as always.
Kesley, I get it. You can't say anything that may be considered pro SEC. It's OK. I think that a conference may have more than one candidate for the playoffs too.
In rambling about the ACC here Clemson has proved itself... But, but isn't everything around the orbit of the SEC until proven others wise. It would be nice but only one can make it to the 4 team playoff as the alignment favors Clemson at this point(talking ACC here). I have no problem saying we are trying to catch up with the SEC but it is given Godly favored status in all things these days as it has been for years. The Trumps of college football will take anything but the SEC at this point to prove that life exist outside of its sphere...
Whoa whoa... In the past the media SEC love was evident, but I've actually seen lists with both Clemson and Louisville in the top 4, and I haven't seen any with 2 SEC teams in it... It would take some special circumstances for two teams to get into the playoff from the same league, not sure they will exist for the SEC this year... If the east and west champs were both undefeated going to the champ game maybe, but that's guaranteed not to happen this year. Ease up folks. This thing has a LONG way to go. It's the best time of year... don't look to the end already or you might miss some fun stuff in the middle! 8)
Ahh man, that's part of the fun these days... No worries as I don't take it near as serious as it sounds..It's early yet...
