I was surprised at that spread on the UF/Tenn game as well. I haven't watched UF at all this season so I don't really know if you guys truly have an elite defense or not since you haven't really played anybody who'd challenge your defense. But still that's a lot of points in this series. The key to me is whether or not the Tenn QB can make you respect the pass. I'd say 3 point game either way would be more likely and low scoring.
I agree a three point win will probably be the differential. For that to happen for UF the new Qb needs to protect the ball and let that defense work. For it to happen for UT their two athletes.... Dobbs and Hurd need to make some plays with that athleticism on display..... which is essentially why UF was forced to come from behind last year. One wildcard for UF is a kicker who is capable of manufacturing points with long field goals.... Eddie Pinero. FGs in a game like this can be huge......
Scott will like this....A&M Verbal Keldrick Carper visited ND for the Mich State game and told Irish websites that he was 110% committed to A&M but was keeping his options open!! :? :? So I guess when he's sure he'll be 150% committed.
Wisky is curb stomping Sparty in East Lansing. 30-6 in the early 4th quarter. Pre season prognostications were that Bucky would be a 500 team. They will be 4-0 with two wins against top 10 ranked teams.
I figured the Wisc/MSU game to be a real slug fest....Sparty must have left something on the field in South Bend. Maybe Wisc is for real though. Sets up a big game with Neb.
Terrible missed targeting call in Stanford/UCLA game. UCLA kid lowered his head and went right after the Stanford kid and hit him in the helmet. Pac12 refs didn't call it and after reviewing it in the booth the replay refs declined to make the right call and let it go. Stanford kid didn't get up and had to go to the looker room. He'll no doubt be out a week in the concussion protocol. If the Pac12 commish doesn't fire the guys in the booth and suspend the guys on the field then he has no concern for player safety. It was worse than the Tori Hunter Jr hit by the Texas player.
Never seen anything like the ending of the LSU/AU game. LSU scored on the last play of the game, LSU guy made a great catch in the end zone stayed in bounds and possessed the ball all the way to the ground. LSU whole team goes berzerk... but wait the booth is reviewing the play, and it was pretty clear that maybe LSU didn't get the snap off in time, but it was really hard to tell. But I thought they were looking at the catch. Nope, they were looking at the snap which I didn't know that they could do that...but they can and they took the points off the board and gave the win to Auburn. Les Miles magic is seemingly all gone.
Ark player ejected for targeting, it was justified and yet it wasn't half as bad as the hit on the Stanford player by the UCLA db that the Pac12 refs ignored.
I think that there's a difference between getting a play off before the play clock runs out and getting one off after the game is over.
Brett Bilema is an idiot. They've been running tough, and A&M has been tough on the goal line but jezzz it's 4th and 1/4 yd and you try and trick'em with a reverse and get stuffed for a 5 yard loss.
Holy Cow, the Aggie QB who is a mediocre passer just hits a huge 90+ yd td pass, puts it right on the money! I love see Fat Brett suffer!!! Squealing like a pig!!
Ag's get the PI call on an un-catchable ball for 1st down and then a beautiful TD run by the halfback. Aggies are rolling. Sack fumble, and score... Aggies up 38-17 now...Scott is a happy camper this weekend.
Knight is a good passer when he remembers to use good position. Unfortunately... on about a third of his passes he forgets. But with about 150 yds rushing for the night I can forgive him. Fat Brett uses his last timeout with 120 seconds left and down by 21. We repay him with a 60 yard run. We took some damage. Garrett's ankle and Evan's injuries are worriesome. I'd keep him out of the SCAR game so he can be ready for Tennesee... Nice to blow them out this time, and don't have to hear about how Arkie let it get away. UCLA... so close. I thought they had that one. DOH!
T, you talking about the hit on uwusu? We watching on Goal Line so didn't see the followup, looked like targeting to me.
Checked out the video on espn, how that wasn't targeting is beyond me. Explanation was that didn't lead with crown of helmet. What bs. Not only was targeting not called, not even a personal foul, and ucla was aided by the resultant turnover. Sick.
