Yeah I would agree in general, but I have been burned many a time by giving the over 30 points and have some lowly underdog play out of their gourds and the big favorite doesn't cover.
I am in no way a Gator fan but they are from the state of Florida, have great players and easy stomach....My son is a Gator  and I am paying for the entire process...No in honesty I admire the loyalty of the fans and the tradition of success. I watched the entire game last week thinking I was going to spot my son amongst the 85,000 fans wearing blue Gator shirts...Sigh... The team has potential to be the spoiler in the SEC this season, they are not going to win a national championship but the surrounding talent is really good and Muschamp may come out looking pretty good if injuries don't hamper his season.
Ralph in watching UF last Saturday what I became hopeful about was the athleticism and the fact that the new OC Roper calls a style of play that turns em loose. No more plodding....3 yards and a cloud of dust WillyBall. Also.... it made you realize those inuries last year were a killer. Matt Jones looked like the guy who diced up the Florida State defense a couple of years ago when he was healthy. It's a long season and the SEC is a tough league so I am sure bumps in the road are coming.... but I remain hopeful that this team is vastly different than last year's version and will compete all year.
So Dave, are you saying that the Kentucky game is one that should be taken lightly? AJ, That wouldn't be the first time a US Marine said that, but it always ends up with a massive victory for the Corps so stay strong.
After the Vandy game last year I'm pretty certain you can't take any SEC opponent lightly. I am just saying that hopefully this team is going to be good enough to win easily over KY. If not.... and they struggle with the Cats then I'll guarantee more than just a mere struggle at Alabama the following week...
OK Longhorns lost another guy today. Jaxon Shipley our WR. That makes 6 of the projected starting 11 preseason who will not be suiting up for UCLA. Unfreakin' believeable.
KP, Interesting you say that. I respect your opinion of the Tide a great deal. I have a friend who worked for the University/Athletic Dept who left this year to take a job elsewhere. I saw on Facebook that he said the same thing you did and has taken a ton of heat for it. Now interestingly enough, when Alabama fans tell me most anything about the Tide, I take it with a huge grain of salt... unless it's you or Daniel.. and anytime you 2 say the same thing, it has always proven true. I'll be interested to see how this pans out. If I had a chunk of money, I'd probably drop that bet just because you 2 said that..
Certainly a big game for the Gators. I don't project us as a winner, but how competitive we are will tell us a lot about where we stand.
Actually Kp since TexA&M defeated Bama two years ago and they appear to have a much better team than does UF plus they are a west opponent the Aggies are in second place in the Stub Hub marketplace for Bama home game tickets: UF 3175 tickets left lowest price $98.85 TexA&M 2134 $173.72 Aub 2690 $309.45 Tennessee: UF 2186 $115.74 Bama 3682 $116.91 LSU: Bama 2684 $288.00 Ole Miss 2093 $86.49
Hell I just hope we can stay within 20 points without losing key players to injury..... like Driskel for instance.
Pretty impressive show by Gunner Kiel and the Cincinnati Bearcats last night against Toledo. He threw for over 400 yards and 6 TDs! I can not say much for their defense though?
Bill, Seriously, I am looking forward to the Florida game. At this point I am not too sure how good Alabama is. Our secondary does not seem to be very good and our offense is clicking. WVU moved the ball on us through the air and that is a big concern of mine. I have not seen Florida play yet but I hope they give me a better picture of how good (or bad  ) Alabama is. 8)
