No, I was playing in a golf tournament (guest invitational) I didn't do very well in the golf tournament either. Hard to concentrate on golf and trying to listen to the pocket radio at the same time.
No arguments there...I'm not saying that the new coaching staff or revamped stadium is a game changer but for the first two games against lesser teams (I'm being honest) there does seem to be a difference in the turn out. Then again my Cane boards were harsh on our QB who supposedly is ranked as a highly ranked player in the next NFL draft as a Junior. We are sure a very unhappy fan base unless we are winning by 70 points and winning National championships every year...You would think we could be a little appreciative on the changes going on... I for one am incredibly happy with the Canes and what the future holds, it won't be long before we are hated again in the world of college football
Ralph, with Mark Richt as your coach, you won't be hated like you were back in the "old days." Richt is a class guy.
Some interesting matchups in the SEC this weekend Alabama vs Ole Miss Auburn vs Texas A&M Miss St. vs LSU Georgia vs Missouri Miami vs App St will be interesting to see Nebraska vs Oregon should be informative also Notre Dame vs Mich St Ohio St vs Oklahoma My wife is not going to be a happy camper
Whoops....OU backup QB said he didn't think the Buckeye defense was anything more than a basic defense and that Baker Mayfield will tear it up.....Oh yeah you know Bob Stoops was really glad to have him say that!
Houston blows open a close game in the 2nd half and cruises past the Bearcats. Right before the end of the 1st half the Cougars looked like they were going in for a score when they had an unlucky fumble on a double reverse that was going for some yards. A Cincy defender knocked the ball loose as the runner was going out of bounds but the fumble blew upwards and some how stayed in bounds. One thing I didn't know was that if an offensive player goes out of bounds he can't be the first person to touch the ball when he comes back in, but a defensive player who goes out of bounds can be the first person who touches the ball. Houston needs to be undefeated to make the playoffs, and they have Louisville on the schedule...so it won't be an easy task.
Excellent game to watch if you were a no fan of either team. Ward is exciting to watch. I did not realize Gunner Keil had fallen down to the third QB for the Bearcats,
Cincy almost won that game, Houston had a lot of turnovers and almost gave it away. Cincinnati interceptions in the 4th qtr provided the big final score margin but like always turnovers are the great equalizer.
More specifically, halfway through the 4th quarter. Cincy led until the 12 minutes left in the game. It was only a three point margin (19-16) until about 7 minutes left in the game.
FWIW, I see Les Miles named Danny Etling his starting QB this week. In my view, he was average to mediocre when he played at Purdue. Stu may have a different opinion. Of course, he didn't have the protection he'll have at LSU, which could be a major factor. It will be interesting to see how he performs.
At LSU, they are so loaded that they simply need an effective game manager type of QB. He's going to get throwing lanes and check downs will be wide open regularly.
How has a successful Coach like Les Miles let his offense put him where he is right now. The guy they had as the starter was just awful last year, good teams just put 9 guys in the box and dared them to pass and they couldn't. So Cameron works with him all off season and says he's much improved...improved he could barely shotput the football over the offensive line much less pass it to a WR. Do they not produce QB's in Louisiana since the Manning boys left? Or is it another instance of a coach being to loyal to a staff member in this case Cam Cameron. Why experienced HC can't see the forrest through the tree's. Bobby Bowden had a hard time seeing that his son was a terrible OCoord, Brian Kelly can't see that Van Gorder is killing us, Lou had never really did get it right after Alvarez left, Mack Brown had Greg Davis, Manny Diaz..the list goes on and on. Saban makes the right moves some how all the time.
