Interesting that Jerry Palm's updated bowl predictions have Miami vs. Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl....
Most of the Bowl Scenario's that I have seen have Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl vs a Group of 5 team.
CVE. No love for the first start of Anthony Gordon's career after beating out a graduate transfer FCS championship game QB? To start his career, he completed his first 15 passes for 264 yards and four TDs. For the first half, 22/23 for 324. Add in the first 8 minutes of the third quarter and he was 29/35 for 420 yards and 5 TDs. No love for the true Sophomore RB who ran for 128 yards on 10 carries with a TD? When was the last time WSU rushed for 100 yards, much less cracked the century with a single RB? 128 yards for Wazzu is like 640 yards rushing for any other team. Co-Heisman winners? So Tua needed all three quarters? Duke must have been a lot more pesky than NMSU. Well, why worry at all, really. The horror! I guess if you had a true soph RB with earned accolades rather than poster boy accolades you wouldn't be so worried. Point taken. Your team has three RBs? Luxurious! I'll just leave this here.
Article today in Houston says that Joe Burrow would not have gone to Ohio State had Tom Herman not twisted Urban Meyer's arm.
I think that is an accurate statement. Meyer was concerned about Burrow's passing ability. Once that was demonstrated to him in person at OSU made the offer.
I think many people, myself included, think that the Army/Michigan has potential to be a repeat of the OU/Army game last year. But Michigan is a 23 point favorite, so Vegas doesn't agree. I guess you have to feel that Mich on defense is so much better than OU that Army won't be able to play keep away from the Michigan offense like they did Kyler Murray and OU.
Stu, I think the affects of Dorian will be past Tuscaloosa by game time tomorrow. It was close though.
Another bullet dodged. Actually Dorian has caused me a minor inconvenience that I'm not even going to relate because it's so minor compared to the tragedy in the Bahamas. My son has a friend who owns a vacation home and two boats on Abaco Island...all completely gone...and even THAT is just a minor inconvenience compared to what the folks that live there are having to go through.
Ohio State's defense vastly improved over last year. They forced the Bearcats into deep trouble consistently. Fields and Dobbins had a solid day. Very impressed today with back up RB Teague. He looked real solid and a good backup to Dobbins. I was looking for a pretty close game, but the score of 42-0 was not anticipated. Michigan just won in double OT to Army. WOW!
I didn't think that Army could pull off the same ball control that they did last year. I didn't see the game though and Army's rushing stats look like Michigan did a great job containing them. But in the end it was pretty much the same game as last year with OU. OT win for the superior squad. I was surprised at the score in the Ohio State game, I thought UC would be a little competitive. You see the sea of red at Colorado? Looks like the Huskers bought out the stadium!
Aggies put up a good fight, never quit but Clemson is just too good. Their WR'S are special. Defense looks fast and nasty. Huskers lose in OT to Colorado, a bit surprising as at points it looked like they were in control. How about Maryland, 150 points in 2 games.
