So my rankings would be LSU OSU Clemson Oklahoma Georgia Florida Clemson could win it all but it's hard to know. They have the easiest path to the finals. The ACC just isn't a very good conference right now except for Clemson.
Just for the record I like Clemson and admire the job Dabo has done there. Not his fault that FSU and others in the conference have tanked. Well maybe it's a bit his fault as he keeps beating them. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if they are in the finals or win it all again.
Well no matter, it's going to be LSU/OU and Clemson/Ohio State. The Clemson/Ohio State game should be a great one, I think LSU will smoke OU.
Bill, I agree with your points re Clemson. They trounced very good Ohio teams the last two times they played OSU in the post season. They are an elite team.
You don't think that Ohio State could still be ranked number one? I think that LSU earned that ranking today but I have been surprised before.
hmm they put up a graphic that showed Ohio State with 5 wins vs Top 25 teams and LSU with 4...I guess LSU isn't getting credit for Texas being ranked when they played.
Well based on what I've seen today, I'd rank LSU #1, but certainly if the committee ranks Ohio State #1 I won't feel they missed it.
Terry, LSU beat Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Auburn all ranked in the top 12 in the last playoff rankings.
Congrats to Don, Stu, George and Terry. The scarlet and gray dragon is one nasty beast that has laid waste to its BT competitors.
I think what a team is ranked at the time you play them is significant. But doesn't matter now the final 4 are set, I guess everybody thinks the easy path to the Championship game is playing OU, maybe so.
Quinn and Klatt are excellent analysts. And, to give the devil his due, Urban’s segments analyzing past games are quite good. He does a great job explaining complex football strategies in a concise and clear manner.
man, I missed all the good football talk here. My daughter came home with a pair of llama slippers so I was taken offline by more important things. I did get to finish watching the game though. I think all 4 teams can be scary when they are playing to their ability. I suppose it is all a matter of who shows up and gets it done.
I will be the first to commit to some anxiety last night when we were down to Wisky 21-7. Second half with some adjustments, we looked and played with more intensity. Dobbins saved our butts with his rushing capabilities. (179 yds) Fields definitely not as mobile with that leg brace. Most unusual play of the game was that fake punt where Crisman threw a pass to one of our receivers for a first down.
No Big Ha ha! Ok Bob. I guess in my old age my focus wanders. You're probably right. Clemson's schedule is right up there with Ohio State's, and LSU's and while I don't believe there has ever been a year where Alabama did not play a single top 25 team but that's probably just my lack of focus.
Don, OSU showed a lot of discipline coming back last night. LSU scored a lot of points on a very good Georgia defense. I enjoyed seeing Hurts so well against Baylor although he seems to take of the turnovers for the playoffs and Clemson beat Virginia. So here we go. A few weeks for us to cuss and discuss before it is decided on the field. I guess the selection show should be a snoozer.
