I hope Alabama is more excited about the bowl season than I am. I know it sounds bad but right now, I dread having to live around Auburn fans more than I look forward to playing Oklahoma, Ohio State or whoever. I'm spoiled I know but not playing for the SEC Championship and/or the National Championship is a big letdown.

I would love to have the opportunity to be as "spoiled" as you are and to experience your letdown. On the other hand, I sympathize with your fate for the next year, having to live with the Auburn fans.

Sorry kp, no sympathy from me either.

I know that FSU had a lighter schedule than Auburn, but they are one good football team. Auburn is going to have a tough time with them.

But hey the SEC still lives and just think all the people that love to point out, in their opinion, that the SEC isn't that good, if this were the start of the four game playoff Bama and Michigan State would likely be the other two. :)

    Kp,

I believe FSU will humble those Auburn fans into muteness....

...unless they can bring in the refs from the surrounding 30 mile radius of their campus.... which they can't. 8)

MCG, at this point nothing will humble the Auburn fans. They are convinced that God, the stars, fate and all of the tea leaves in China are aligned so that Auburn wins the National Championship. Now if they lose (they may lose but they will never admit that they get beat) it will be because of the weather, the refs, FSU cheating, Winston raping coeds, or the sun was in their eyes. I know y'all don't believe me but Auburn fans are convinced that their winning the National Championship has been written on stone tablets placed atop Lookout Mountain by a Higher Being.

I hear ya Kp..... and if the game were at Auburn I am pretty sure something would happen to make that belief a reality.

But this game is in Ca...... and the Auburn magic will remain back in Alabama.

I truly believe FSU is that good.

MCG, don't get me wrong, I am not predicting an Auburn win. What I am saying is that the Auburn fans are either going to win or claim that some unfair circumstance will cause their loss. Also, I'm sure FSU can win this game. The Auburn defense is vulnerable, as we saw yesterday but to stop their running game you have to be very disciplined, play assignment defense and have the talent to execute individually. Now I am sure FSU has the personnel but are they able to not fly to the ball? They may but it is counter to the way most teams normally play defense.

Auburn will probably gouge FSU for some yards and points.... especially at first when maybe the nolies have a few jitters etc. on offense.

But the Seminole's method as the game wears on is to take over the game relentlessly unlike any team I have seen recently.

Their offense will become unstoppable.... especially for a suspect Auburn defense and then the FSU defense will have figured out the Tiger offense who can't be comfortable trying to throw it one dimensionally from behind.

Might get ugly at the end.

    FSU minimum 51 points

    Auburn maybe 31

KP is spot on right about Auburn fans. They'll claim they won, or were cheated.

On a related note, Auburn has been a 'magical' team this year. At the same time, I've been somewhat forced to watch Auburn football regularly going back to the late 90s. There is no team in college football that has more absolutely weird **** go their way year in and year out. Even their 4 or 5 loss teams will include one or two 'miracle' wins.

I know everyone gets a little lucky here and there, but Auburn always seems to just have strange things happen all the time. It's bigger than the "Gus Bus" or "Members Only Gene" or "Tommy Tubesteak" or even "Pumpkinhead Bowden." Just weird, weird, weird stuff happens.

If you gloss over their great history of achievements, very few are 'Bo Over The Top' and are a lot more like 'The Prayer At Jordan Hare' or 'Punt Bama Punt' or 'Kick Bama Kick.' It's such a strange history, especially when as KP noted, their fans never accept a loss outright.

post-script, unless Alabama sleep walks through this game, they should murder Oklahoma.

There were 2 teams that ND lost to this year in which I was flat out angry afterwards because we had no business losing to them: Pitt and Oklahoma.

It will take a miracle for Bama and Ohio State to have even a sliver of motivation for their bowls.

Damn shame they aren't playing each other.

I would not want to be Oklahoma, this game will be over as soon the kickoff is completed....Whoever agreed to this one was looking at the Excel sheet on hotel bookings and restaurant projections because this makes no sense on the grid iron....
