Heck of a game, Tide just dug too deep of a hole. Joe Burrow probably sewed up the Heisman. Longhorns get the win vs KSU, it wasn't a big win it was a tight game and KSU came back to tie it...but it was a win and a win the Longhorns needed badly.
MSU was up 31-10 at the end of the 3rd Q. Illinois scores 27 4th quarter points and win on a go ahead TD with 2 seconds to go which was the first time the Illini lead all game. Ill is now now bowl eligible and it looks like Lovie’s job is really secure.
Iowa State is giving OU a game. This is hurting them in the race to be the best 1 loss team. Right now I'm thinking ...the committee will see this. 1. LSU 2. Ohio State 3. Clemson 4. Alabama 5. Georgia 6. Oregon 7. Utah 8. OU 9.?????????
Is Dantonio on the hot seat. They've had some pretty bad losses the last 2 years. I posted a while back that they had 6 players go into the transfer portal.
And while I'm at it, today was a really good day for college football fans. the Minn.-PSU game and the Ala.-LSU game were very entertaining. For some with a dog in the hunt they may have been less then spellbinding but they were really good games.
OU barely survives the upset by Iowa State at home 42-41 when Iowa State went for the win and failed rather than kick the extra point and go to OT. I doubt OU has much of a shot at the CFP now, a lot of things would have to fall their way for that to happen
And Appalachian State beats South Carolina. I happen to agree with Gipper here. This was just a good/great day for college football fans.
As discussed previously, the number of undefeated teams after 11 weeks is five. OSU, LSU, Clemson, Minnesota and Baylor. A couple more weeks and that list will probably be reduced in number as well.
Minnesota.has a couple.of.difficult regular.season games.left plus.they have to play OSU in the Big Ten championship game right? So there is one less.undefeated at the end of the season. Unless Clemson has a bout of narcolepsy, they will be undefeated. LSU will be.heavily favored in the rest.of their games as well. Baylor has Oklahoma next week and they probably won't be favored in that one. But theoretically, we could have 4 undefeated teams at the end of the season. So would the selection committee meet for 5 minutes and then break for drinks? But, in reality we will probably have 2 or 3 undefeateds. So who would be the ugly sister invited to the party?
A number of possibilities out there Kp. Our last two games with PennState at home and on the road in the big house could pose problems for us as well. Georgia?
Don, yeah lately I'm not sure about Georgia. Fromm looks very inconsistent and Smart doesn't seem to be able to utilize his running backs as much as he could. They have a good defense so the matchup with LSU should be interesting assuming that is the SECCG pairing. OSU should be heavily favored in both of the remaining games but as we know anything can happen. All of the favorites to get into the CFP final four will have to play several top 10 teams to get there except Clemson.
