I looked it up on the CFB Data Warehouse...and you guys could claim 6 I guess. http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_ia/sec/texas_a&m/all_national_champs.php Of course if we go back before the AP poll. The Irish could claim 24 Nat'l Championships. Texas could claim 13. http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_ia/sec/texas_a&m/all_national_champs.php
Phil Steele going for upset Sat. 1. TCU over WVa ... ok not an upset 2. Louisville over FSU ...UPSET 3. Stanford over Oregon ...UPSET 4. Auburn over Ole Miss ....not really an upset I guess but Ole Miss is the home team and slight favorite. 5. Duke over Pitt 6. Neb over Purdue ...but take the points, Huskers don't cover. 7. Miss State over Ark...take the points State doesn't cover.
Texas A&M making the change at QB from what I'm reading, going with Kyle Allen the true freshman. What do you think Scott? Over on Texas boards they are saying that Kyler Murray is looking at Oregon again and that Dylon Mack is also looking around. Could be wishful thinking of course by jealous Longhorn fans.
I think had the team continued on the trajectory they were on... anything could happen. Assuming we come out and play real football again for the final stretch, I think we'll be OK with the big recruits. Kyler is probably more of a threat to play pro baseball than go somewhere else...
Wow, Gators destroyed Georgia and no doubt saved Will Muschamps job. Over in Morgantown, the WVA coach took playing not to lose to the ultimate..and of course he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. TCU wins on the last play. I couldn't believe that after stopping TCU on 4th down at the 50, that they didn't try a single pass, granted TCU was in Trickett's head but still they had to make a first down and TCU was just smelling the run and stuffing it. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGH. Irish needed WVa to win!
WVa turned the ball over time and time again and the "high powered" TCU offense just blew. They were unimpressive to say the least.
The committee will see it as a "quality" win on the road vs a ranked team. No matter what we do tonight vs Navy, TCU will be ahead of us after the rankings are released Tues.
Well I thought Sumlin was holding an open competition for QB starter this week and Kyle Allen won and that is why he started today for A&M vs La-Monroe, where he lead the Aggies to a victory..well that's maybe a stretch since he was 13-28 for 106yds, but never the less he was the starter. Now it comes out that Kenny Hill has been suspended for 2 games for the proverbial unspecified violation of team rules. This is his second suspension this year. What's going on Scott?
All I have is my phone so I'll fully reply tomorrow night. The Aggie coordinators need to be terminated now. Neither has a clue. Did see some freshman LBs with a pulse so that was one good thing.
Tennessee wins it with a field goal in overtime and we just received a congratulatory call from Kes and Scott!!! My plan worked. I gladly give away the 20 points in the contest for this win!!!!
Thanks Don... A win for Tennessee and we haven't seen the game yet. We were in Dallas for the "Dodge rocks the Gas Monkey" event. The win just made a great, fun day even better! We were listening to the game on Sirius on the way back to the hotel. Things were looking grim but with 11 seconds left, Tennessee scored the TD to tie it up. I'm proud of two things here: 1) The never quit mentality of this young team and 2) The defense that didn't wilt in the home stretch but got stronger!
Tom, That young qb has changed the complexion of your offense totally. Tennessee has a young team and will be really tough in 2 years.
Bill, Your qb change seems to have worked well for Florida as well. Good win over UGA. Notre Dame hung in there and pulled out the win. Win and move on. That's all you can do for now. Let the rest of it take care of itself. 8) Scott, What's up with Hill? Apparently he wasn't the only problem. ULM can really be a spoiler sometimes though.
