I'm watching the Florida/Utah game and a couple of the Florida players has bicycle shorts on. I thought there was rule saying they had to go down to the knee. I know a lot.of guys didn't do that but the UF players pants are mid thigh

Nebraska have some beasts on their defensive line.

Huskers died from several self inflicted wounds tonight to lose in a last second heartbreaker but I thought the team overall the team looked far more disciplined and talented than they were the past few years.

Jeff Simms lost that game. The fumble hurt, but 3 picks in double and triple coverage WITHOUT NOT Staring your receiver down the entire play is unacceptable.

Semi anxious for our opening game vs Indiana on the road tomorrow afternoon. I am not sure of what may occur, but it should provide some answers and probably some question marks as well. We are heavy favorites and should win the game. On the other hand, some very strange developments can crop up so time will tell. I am hoping t see us very aggressive on the defensive side of the ball and what kind of rushing game we will call. Not worried about the offense or receivers but the offensive line play could be a problem.

Anxious to see what identity they develop. I expect a more balanced offensive attack given a new QB and a return to health of a very good and underappreciated RB room. Offensive line a work in progress factors into that as well.

For the first time in a few years, I'm optimistic about the defense. In this year 2 of Knowles, a ton of returning experience and very promising young talent, I think the defense outperforms expectations, certainly outperforms "Gash House Gang" of the last 2 years. Hopeful that they can compete with the offense for best unit on the field....if this team can avoid the injury bug, I think they can be pretty good.

Semi Anxious? Don, you are sounding too much like your Domer buddies on SB. Poor Hoosiers have nobody that will be able to cover your NFL All Pro receivers and I am sure your new QB replacing Stroud will be as smooth as how a shark grows new teeth to replace its old ones.:)

Re: QB we've been very fortunate to be sure. Each of the 3 starting QB's in the Day era have been Heisman finalists and NFL first rounders. We all know that nothing lasts forever, but in my old age I'm fine with taking 'em one at a time. Just give me one more this year and we can discuss next year, next year;)

Speaking of WR, not unlike when 1st rounders Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave said JSN was the best in the room, Harrison Jr went on record this week telling the assembled press that he thinks one the incoming FR, Carnell Tate, is better than he is.....I hope he's right, looking forward to watching.

Maybe we can get our friend BobDa to give us a 1-2 of the monstrous road graders of an OL they stockpile up north, we can pass along a WR or two his way!

Oh my! That certainly will make a difference. Haha! Sorry, but there's not much enthusiasm here in Hoosierland about the state of IU football. You gotta love the coach, but so far, after his exciting first seaon, the program has gone backward.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not overly concerned about the outcome but my guess is that Coach Allen and the new DC, based upon his insights, has had months to cook up new schemes and may well take a young, inexperienced QB a minute to figure things out and the first couple possessions may be a little more sloppy than I would like.

I just hope IU can show some competitive fire in a losing cause.

I saw that Allen has a big buyout and while his last 2 seasons have been disappointing, that he's likely to be back in 2025 no matter how this season goes.

My daughter and wife commented on that also. Don't much care for it.

Well that opening sucked for us Gators. We got a penalty on a punt that gave the ball back to Utah and led to a touchdown because we had two players with the same number on the field. Just how do you let that happen?
