Yeah the Gators dropped two spots after struggling in their opening game to beat a team that could win 10 games this season... operative word is "beat" their opponent.

I've seen a lot of things, including that team. The schedule is Charmin soft, but I also know that teams like Virginia and Louisville will be pretty good this year.

Somehow I am not seeing 10 wins for Miami.

Other than starting out with Florida this is Miami's easiest schedule in decades.
Va, BC, VaTech, GaTech and L'ville all at home with the hardest road games at UNC, Pitt and a still suspect FSU. Win the bowl game and you have a 10-3 Miami squad even with a couple of upsets because until proven otherwise they could be favored in every game. For instance they opened as a 5.5 point favorite vs. UNC and the line has moved to 6.5 points in favor of the Canes.

People are really talking up Wisconsin after their Week 1 win vs USF. Thinking preseason was Iowa was going to win the Big 10 West, now they are saying Wisconsin looks like they are the best team in the West and they get Michigan at home Sept 21.

Miami's remaining ranked opponents are...... ?

Actually Va. (33) and UNC (1) are the only Miami opponents even getting any AP voter's votes.
I'm interested to see the side story that is Miami this year.... it should be interesting because they do have what appears to be a very salty defense and some talent at WR and a QB with accuracy if not time to throw to go with this for all appearances cakewalk of a schedule until the possible meeting with the killer buzzsaw Clemson.

Wow, beating a 10 win team with that schedule certainly deserved a top 5 rating.

Miami has a freshman QB, and a sketchy offensive line.
Two items together that do not inspire confidence in double digit wins.
Both positions can improve, but to bank on 10 wins is a bit optimistic no matter the schedule.

Virginia will beat them. BC may well beat them. Tech may well beat them. These games aren't the 'gimmes' you are suggesting. I get it though, I accepted a long time ago that you need some conspiratorial narrative to keep you going until Georgia puts a boot in your ass. Keep on keeping on my man.

Lol Gipper.... maybe true if it did happen at the end of the season and all that came to fruition. I'm just sayin that beating Miami by any amount of points to start the season is probably better than many teams have done so far.... most teams.

I don't think it merits a three place drop in the polls for sure.

Corey Miami can lose to Va. and Va Tech ( at home ) but still win the rest of their games and go 10-3 with a bowl win. Lets see what happens.

Gators have plenty of big games to prove themselves...Auburn,LSU, So.Carolina, and Georgia in successive weeks win those and a top 10 ranking will have been earned!

Terry that's very true of every team that plays a tough schedule.... and of course at this point in the season a three place drop for beating a decent team is nothing more than a mere annoyance.

Yeah beating LSU at their place and Georgia anywhere this season is a tall order. So maybe 10 -2 will still get the Gators in a New Years Six bowl which would be cool.
