Well I didn't see this coming. So Carolina taking gas v UNC. UNC started a true freshman at QB and this So. Carolina squad was supposed to be Muschamps best squad and Jake Bentley is a veteran at QB who some say will play in the NFL. Yet it was the kid who made the plays and the vet who sucked. I have to say UNC taking a knee on 4th down and giving So. Carolina a couple of shots at the end zone from + territory. But no matter they sack Bentley and game over.

Five'll get ya ten, old Macky's back in town :D

Fun game tonight at Jerry World. Oregon has left about 17 points on the field tonight and Auburn has also left points on the field about 10 points. Bo Nix the true freshman QB has made some plays but in general looks like a true freshman so far. Hebert just OK, he had a TD pass dropped but he also had a terrible fumble inside the 10. 14-6 at half time.

Wow...what a finish, I take back what I said about Bo Nix...he was money when it counted. Great win by Auburn, Oregon just choked big time...of course the Auburn defense had something to do with that..but they just gave it away in the 1st half when they let all those points get away from them. Best game of the day.

FSU down in flames. Leading 31-13 in the second quarter they lose 36-31.

    Such a shame.

    Have always liked Boise State.

    S. Carolina deserved to lose that game. I'm sorry but Will Muschamp just isn't a good head coach.

Boise has returned to their roots of running between the tackles. I was never worried during that game because Boise could just run at will against FSU. Once they put an umbrella over that offense FSU was running, FSU was dead meat.

Of course, the freshman QB tossing for 400 yards doesn't hurt, but he's able to throw for that many yards because FSU couldn't stop the run without selling out.

Auburn screws Oregon late in 4th quarter. I am confident Kp is happy??

Georgia and Alabama looked pretty good, although neither team played well for the entire game. Alabama stunk the first quarter, but they recovered and finished the game well. Tagavolua went 26 for 31, 330 yards and no interceptions. Running game needs work. Georgia on the other hand has a great running game but they sputtered after a fast start, then recovered after they remembered they had a running game. Auburn looks pretty good after their comeback. LSU and A&M won big and Florida beat Miami. Kentucky and Miss State also won. It will take 2 to 3 weeks for this to all really make any sense.

My sisters come to visit this week and I'm taking them to the Alabama game Saturday. Should be a sleeper of a game but Tuscaloosa on game day should fun.

Don, it is tough. I hate Auburn but I need the SEC teams to be successful when they go out of conference. So I usually can't root for them so I don't against their opponent.

Actually I usually root for all of the teams on our schedule. It would be great for them to be undefeated except for their game with Alabama.:)

Hurts had a great opening game for the Sooners. Almost 700 yds of offense and over 1,000 yds for both teams.

Don, yes he did. His passing looked much improved and his running ability has never been a problem. His only problem at Alabama was his ability to check down on 2nd and 3rd receivers and I didn't notice him having that problem last night. Good for him!

It'll be a record crowd at DKR, too bad the Longhorns are down to zero running backs!

What did we learn from the first week? Not much really.
    1. Alabama and Clemson are still really good, neither ran through their opponent like a hot knife through butter, but both took care of business and you know Saban will be talking to his OL and RB's about getting better.
    2. Auburn just might be a legit threat, they beat a good Oregon team. Can Bo Nix stay in the moment week to week will be the key, that defense looks salty.
    3. LSU actually looked like they have a modern college offense, at least against Ga.Southern.
    4. Texas in deeper trouble at RB, they have 1 actual RB for LSU.
    5. The true freshman QB's had a good week. The kid from Boise State looked good, Bo Nix looked good, that kid at UNC looked good.
    6. The transfer QB's had a pretty good week with Hurts, esp looking great. Both Fields and Kelly Bryant had excellent games as well. Brandon Wimbush didn't put up the stats those other guys did but then he split time in his game.
    7. Wisconsin looked great, as did their stud RB Johnathon Taylor
    8. How good is Penn State? Their new QB was outstanding, but it was against Idaho.

Penn State under their current jackass loves to run up the score, so it's hard to tell. They'll probably wind up in a dog fight against Pitt in a few weeks.

Not much changed in the polls. Coaches poll is out, the Gators dropped a couple of slots allowing Michigan and Notre Dame to jump them. Auburn not surprisingly jumped up 5 spots, and Corey's Boise State Bronco's and AJ's Nebraska Corn Huskers both moved into the top 25.
