Some major upsets in the first week. This could prove to be an exciting football season for sure. Enjoy!
I watched a little of the UCLA-LSU game before retiring. Is it just me or does UCLA's O line look huge? They were opening up some large holes in the line.
The Gators were playing on SECN at the same time as Georgia and Clemson and I watched them. We have Dish network which records Prime time every night and that game is recorded if I want to watch. Haven't made up my mind for sure. Sounds very boring.
They are, and they have taken their beatings over the years as younger players. They were putting guys on skates last night.
(it was only 3 picks, the 4th was by the back up at the end of the game) Terry, it was obvious from the first drive that the Aggies could have run the ball for 600 yds if wanted, so instead Jimbo decided to see how the new QB would look in live action and passed a LOT. First INT was at the 5 yd line... hit the WR in the numbers, and it bounced off him over to a DB. The next one was a BAD mistake thrown to a defender he didn't see underneath, and the 3rd was a tipped ball which while not ideal, was not a bad pass. King can sling it, and he sure isn't afraid of tight windows. That will probably be both good and bad until he gets more experience. He tossed a beautiful 55 yard bomb to Caleb Chapman who seems to be back in 2020 form. We also got a Johnny Football moment, when King drifted outside to extend a play... then when the defense closed in he reversed the entire field to run for a 1st down on the other side. Lots to clean up, but I think the team has potential to be pretty good. How fast the young guys mature will determine how good. AND... not sure who the refs were, but they were ITCHING to call targeting. Must've been 4 or 5 called, and all were obviously NOT, Thankfully those were reversed by replay.
A lot of young Qbs got their baptisms. It seems that Bryce Young, Hudson Card, CJ Stroud, Haynes King all did very well, while Clemson Qb DJ OILGALIELE, failed the test. Alabama had the most impressive 1st game. Ohio State played well on offense and Georgia played well on defense, Clemson played well on defense,Oklahoma played well on offense. But none of those teams had the complete game offense and defense that Alabama did this weekend.
I just saw that Lane Kiffin, is vaccinated /positive and will miss the Louisville game tomorrow. Big loss as he is the magic play caller for Ole Miss.
Irish probably stay in the top 10 might even move up a slot, but I think right now we're a bit overrated.
The rankings still have several weeks to get "settled". Most teams are still figuring out who they are. I know mine is!
I don't remember the LSU guys dancing at their White House visit to some song called Get the Gat. But in the locker room after the win the UCLA players mocked them by dancing to the same song. Didn’t realize the B10 added a new member this off season. Looking at my atlas to try and locate where *Indinia* is. Is it near Nepal?
Unfortunately some great players ended their seasons this weekend. Michigan wr Ronnie Bell is out for the season Minnesota Rb Mohamed Ibriham is also done for the season. Hope they recover and have shots at the NFL
Kirby Smart says Georgia is experiencing a Covid outbreak. "I'll be honest with you, I'm as concerned as I've ever been, because we have three or four guys out with COVID and we have a couple staff members that have been out with COVID here recently," Smart said. "For us, we're at our highest spike. And people are talking about vaccinations, well these are people that are vaccinated. We're talking about breakthroughs, and so that concerns you not only for the players on your team that are unvaccinated, that are playing and not playing, because we want everybody to be safe. But it concerns me for the players that are vaccinated that we could lose them."
