So the polls had Biden solidly in the lead and the popular vote for Biden was decisive by presidential election standards and yet Trump cannot agree to a peaceful and cooperative transition to a Biden presidency. Good thing the polls were off for Biden instead of the other way around or Trump would be surrounding the White House with Howitzers and they would have to drag him out physically.
The polls were once again completely false. Bogus polls were used to raise money for Democratic Senate candidates in So. Car. and Maine. All they would be good for is getting fools to believe that a rigged election was valid.
Two rulings in Pa. today Judge Rules Pennsylvania Ballots Without Proof of Voter ID Can’t be Counted Pennsylvania court: Secretary of state lacked authority to change deadline 2 days before Election Day
Only thing I will say this ridiculous post is that you are a strange one to comment on anyone lacking class or grace, qualities I don't see in any of your posts.
We all have our opinions about Trump. Homeland Security came out today saying that the 2020 election was the most secure in American history and GOP senators are starting to turn on his fraudulent claims of fraud. The only thing that Trump can accomplish by continuing to cast aspersion on our democratic process is to embarrass himself and our nation. His legacy will carry that with him.
"A top committee made up of officials from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and its election partners refuted President Trump’s claims of widespread voter fraud and irregularities in a statement Thursday, calling the election "the most secure in American history." Meanwhile Trump continues his inciteful tweet storm of misinformation and lies: "There is still no sign that Trump and leading Republicans plan to actively congratulate Biden. Trump is still tweeting conspiracy theories about the election to stoke outrage within his politically activated base" The next step will be when Trump's wacko gun toting and by now outraged followers decide to take matters into their own hands violently. Will Trump be liable for inciting violence?
Stu the more this campaign of misinformation goes on how can this guy not be transparent to at least his moderate supporters? I understand that his more radical base which he is trying to keep riled up will support him no matter what the facts say or what the entire world is saying and that group really doesn't care if his actions assault our democracy. But otherwise reasonable people should be jumping off this crazy train wouldn't you think?
What crazy train? You mean the one I predicted would happen when they started mailing all those ballots out to those who didn't request them? When they didn't allow Republican observers into the polling places? He has a right to recounts in close races. I'm sure that it won't do any good and that's ok. The only crazy thing I see are your conspiracy theories about his "wacky gun-toting followers" who are going to suddenly come out of the woodwork and...do what?
"You mean the one I predicted would happen when they started mailing all those ballots out to those who didn't request them?" I guess you haven't read even one of my posts on that subject and I suspect legions of Trump supporters don't realize the truth about it either. Only a few states added that feature for this election and only sent them to registered voters and were not even the states in question now. In most states as is the casehere in Florida as a registered voter you have to request that they send you a mail-in ballot.
Absentee and Mail Voting Policies in Effect for the 2020 Election Which one of these states above that mailed ballots to registered voters would have flipped to Trump if not for the mailings???
And Bill.... I knew you guys were pretty conservative but this election and your stance now has convinced me you are far far right.... way more than ever.
Well, Nevada was pretty close I think. My only point was that I predicted that all the expanded mail-in (and absentee) voting would cause some amount of chaos. Then there is the issue in Pennsylvania where the state Supreme Court overruled the legislature, when most constitutional purists say that the US Constitution does NOT give them that right (and of course John Roberts refused to hear the case.) And there are other issues on these ballots such as some states not requiring signature matches, etc. I'm not claiming fraud...just saying that if we want everyone to have faith in our elections, we have to have systems that we can have faith in. Why the hell do so many states still have paper ballots for in-person voting anyway? Anybody ever hear of touch screens and electronics? I am not claiming fraud here...just saying that you could have more trustworthy systems...and do so without the myth of "voter suppression."
Good to have physical paper to go back and look at if you have questions although electronic calculation would be much faster for sure. Nevada and Pa. would not give Trump the win if Biden took Az. and Ga. Also..... as Terry said every legitimate vote filed on time within the rules by registered voters needs to be counted whether in person or by mail and I would expect going forward future elections will have a significant mail-in ballot participation now that people have seen the convenience and safety if you will of not going to the polls. I have heard the post office sweeps that were supposed to have occurred did not happen the way they were supposed to either so in the future states will I am sure prepare way ahead of time for getting mail-in votes counted in a timely way. This election was influenced mightily by the pandemic that is really raging out of control today creating a huge increase in mail in ballots that were not designed to be fraudulent.... and were not allowed to be fraudulent and every state election official I have seen make statements in the media whether Republican or Democrat have been very vocal about the legitimacy of their own state's electoral process. The biggest reason we even have any controversy is because for months Trump has known that mail-in ballots would be cast primarily by Democrats given his constant politicization of mail-in ballots and consequently Democratic voters taking physical precautions for Covid vs. his supporters not really giving a **** because that's how they perceive he wants them to be. People don't go to his rallies maskless because they are reckless and suicidal they just do not want to be viewed as not being all-in with their support of all things Trump. Same thing with physical voting at the polls vs mail-ins and knowing this.... promoting this Trump has been railing against mail-in ballots from the start because it in his mind gives him a leg to stand on with regard to disallowing those votes not cast for him.
This kind of stuff is just plain disgusting and anti-American: Stop the Steal's massive disinformation campaign connected to Roger Stone and Steve Bannon - CNN
In Ohio we have easy to use touch screens (they gave out styluses and cleaned the stylus after each use). When done you easily review your ballot, then it prints it out under a plastic window in a cashier receipt type roll which you review so there is indeed a permanent individual paper record. No chads, no smudges, no Sharpie questions. Quick electronic calculation. The paper record only need be reviewed if there are recounts, etc. If you made a mistake (or the paper strip didn't record your vote properly) you can call the poll workers over and fix it.
Once again you deflect the point...you implied there were no states which might flip to Trump if there was huge unsolicited mail-in ballot fraud...and I pointed out that yes, there was one. And the fact that the other states involved in the practice always vote one party does not, in my mind, change the fact that it is a stupid practice. And the fact that Pennsylvania would not have changed the Presidential totals does not change my opinion that what they did was unconstitutional. (OK...I'm not a lawyer...but I bet plenty agree with me.) And don't forget that there are a lot of down ballot elections that perhaps WOULD be effected in these cases.
