Oh I've seen the ads. Those are the anecdotal ads I was referring to. Pure malicious bunk.

Dave, PE firms and VC firms provide the $$$ for companies like Apple to get going, for other companies to reorganize and become profitable...oh and they don't do it for free.

    I swear you've become a Socialist.

"Apathy is not where I want to belong or linger very long but it seems to be the most intelligent position at the moment. Socialism is not my cup of tea but neither is servitude to the masters of not being able to relate to those of us who did not inherit a silver spoon vested in our anus...

I find it incredible that both parties walk around in a daze at the generation aged 20-30 that has no allegiance to either party and does not trust their life to be better than their parents. This group has a keen sense of distrust in the dogma or rhetoric of politicians and what they promise."

Absolutely agree with you here Ralph.

Dave you just haven't investigated Socialism, much of what you want is what you get in a Socialistic system.

The number one problem I see with our political system today and with the citizens who vote in it is "all-or-none" rhetoric that seems to go with the politics.

To me....the right has so much more rhetoric and is more unaccepting of compromise than the left which makes me want to stay left of center.

To the right....there is no compromise.....anything left of center means everything is left of center or worse yet....there is no center to the right......just far right or else!

Dave you are absolutely a Modern Social Democrat in the Euro Style. The compromises that you want are all to give more power to the Govt to provide services and safety net.

    Terry,

Without some regulation I am like the 20-30 age demographic that Ralph mentioned.

I have lost all trust that the institutions we have in place....namely the financial and healthcare industries......will act with ethics and honesty and not take advantage of most Americans every chance they get.

Our young people see that for what it is......and they don't trust the politicians and rhetoric philosophers out there hellbent on protecting that dishonesty and greed.
And then I could mention the conservatives who don't trust anything the governemnt does......except that when they put their GOP politicians in place then the dishonesty and greed of the other institutions run rampant....all in the name of free enterprise and capitalism.

I am in favor of capitalism and free enterprise don't get me wrong....but I will not trust the institutions I mentioned to get it right......to earn their profits legitimately without some governmental oversight to keep them on the straight and narrow.

    re: Bain Capital ads

They're all bogus. These ads were all debunked as soon as they were aired. The men in Kansas City whining about Romney were actually laid off two years after he left Bain Capital. Other workers shown blaming him for what Bain Capital did to them don't realize that he was actually running the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics when these layoffs took place. He wasn't even there. More amateur attacks from Team Obama...

BTW- what has Obama ever run?

What I think? No, what I KNOW is that you have absolutely ZERO understanding of the PE business, what it does, how it operates, how it makes money and the role it plays and the values it adds to our society. Clueless does not begin to describe your understanding. You don't know enough to be clueless....the guy that is clueless, rules your political kingdom

I know that it appears to me that the vast majority of what you believe about them is fed to you in shovels straight from the manure pile that is the socialist rags hopelessly mired in the conspiracy theories of the clueless whackos.....I'm still waiting for you to tell us "what really happens to missing children?"

Dude, you are not left of center....you are left of left

    Dave,

Modern Social Democracy includes capitalism, the old time Socialist envisioned Govt owning the means of production and distribution. But they gave up on that. Modern socialist focus on Govt Services and Safety net, that's absolutely what you always talk about. In a Euro style system you'd still get to work for private companies and achieve or not depending lots of things but you'll have generous unemployment, free healthcare, and your retirement will be covered. Of course you'll also pay a lot of taxes for those things.

....and your country will be mired hopelessly in debt and need to rely on the good fortunes, credit ratings and work ethic of another nation's citizens to bail their lazy a$$es out.....see Greece and Spain with Italy on deck and France in the hole.....

Here's the kind of stuff that Dave falls for...

Liberal Politico Reports On MSNBC Selectively Editing Tape To Make Romney Appear Out of Touch…

Shockingly, it was Andrea Mitchell (who is looking even more worn out than usual) doing the Obama administration’s bidding.
    <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JvJPG6KURV8?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0"></iframe>
    Via Politico:

MSNBC aired footage today that inaccurately portrayed Mitt Romney’s remarks at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania.

Discussing how the public sector suffers from a lack of competition, Romney told the audience about an optometrist who wanted to change his address and subsequently received 33 pages of paperwork from the federal government, which begat a months-long bureaucratic nightmare during which the optometrist in question wasn’t receiving his checks. “That’s how government works,” Romney said.

Then, to illustrate the advantages of competition in the private sector, Romney shared an anecdote from his visit to the local WaWa chain store. “I was at WaWas, I went in to order a sandwich. You press a little touchtone keypad — you touch this, touch this, go pay the cashier — there’s your sandwich. It’s amazing. People in the private sector have learned how to compete. It’s time to bring some competition to the federal government.”

But in the MSNBC clip, which first aired on Andrea Mitchell Reports, Romney’s remarks begin with the WaWa anecdote and end at “It’s amazing,” an edit — first noted by conservative blogger Sooper Mexican — that makes it seem as though Romney was expressing amazement at the advent of touchtone screens.

What about the Germans, they seem to be above the fray in the Euro mess. What is different about the way they run things that keep them successful while Spain, Italy, Greece, Ireland, etc are all in the dumper.

TOK, good observation.....it's called fiscal discipline. The German people are going to tire of having to carry all the Socialist lightweights on their backs for much longer.....the question they are asking is why do we have to pay for all those jacka$$es....and there is no good answer.
