Hey Terry the Gators beat Miami 26-3 and a lot of Gator fans are on suicide watch also. It's something I don't quite understand.
CFN's fearless prediction - hint, hint, this is perhaps the most expert and insightful breakdown of any game I've ever seen.....  http://cfn.scout.com/2/788908.html
They lost me with Terrelle Pryors Buckeyes comment. Clearly doesn't know anything about Ohio State. [/quote]
It's all about branding TOK....TP was Scout's #1 ranked recruit. They gotta promote the brand right? :?
*in my best TV commercial voice ...* BuckeyeT stayed on topic despite hijacks, tempting bait, and a myriad of other distractions .... give that man a Klondike Bar!
Thanks Wendy! How'd you know I love Klondike Bars?! Make mine a triple chocolate..... Games like these should stand by themselves.....God knows there are an unlimited number of angles about which to discuss. We don't need to make everybody wade through mountains of nonsense to discuss the game..... Best of luck to your Gators this weekend.... Go Buckeyes!
Isaly's! I remember Isaly's quite well....I didn't know they did Klondike bars.....geez, I've eaten a million of 'em. I guess I never read the wrapper! Stu, do you remeber Bob McGee from old Prodigy days? Wasn't he a Mansfield guy?
    Somebody should hide all sharp objects......this just sucks. Oh well, time to step up boys! http://www.the-ozone.net/football/2008/USC/wellsdoubtful.htm
Terry, we don't play this weekend but will take those good wishes against Tom and Cindy's Vols next weekend. Bad news about Wells, but he may be ready Sat. I hope so I would like to see this game with both teams at full strength.
At this point we would be smart to just assume Beanie's not gonna play and practice and prepare accordingly. Terry, I remember Bob, but I don't think he was from Mansfield...might have been but my Alzheimer's is kicking in...I never got together with him.
In a convoluted way I could see Beanie's injury helping OSU get back to the title game if they lose to USC. The voting media and coaches would have a little sympathy for a Beanie-less Buckeye squad that has trouble rushing the football especially. Now if the Bucks rush for 200 plus yards anyway but their defense gives up 35 points and they lose that's different but if the offense struggles and OSU loses by 10 points or less they will have a good shot to get to Miami if they run the table.
Buckeye Terry & Stu, Yes, Bob was from Mansfield. Retired military if I remember correctly. Ust to post on the O-Zone Forum as well. Don
Bill.....We lived in Tennessee for 10 years and my kids were both Tennessee born. I have too many close friends that bleed orange so I'm going to have to lean towards Tom and Cindy on that one. But, I do hope your kids play well. It's gonna be a helluva scrap.
Nah it didn't backfire, I got the good wishes and banked them for a later use, next week, it's to late to take back!!!!
With the news about Beanie Wells, I think Ohio State loses by 2 scores minimum. I respect the Buckeyes program and I wouldn't be that surprised if they end up pulling out a nail-biter somehow but I just think USC wins this one going away. When USC has big games, they show up. They lose when no one's paying attention and everyone's paying attention to Saturday.
The news is not good Aquila.....I do expect Beanie to see some action - to what extent and how effective he can be, we'll have to wait and see. It's fair to say that he can't possibly be at full strength, but I think the docs'c would have to take his helmet away for us not to at least see a little. Disappointing to say the least.....he's a special talent and has been looking forward to this game for years.... However, we're not quite ready to concede and I'm certain our kids will show up at the Coliseum. SC is a great team with tons of NFL caliber talent in great numbers. We have a couple of kids - besides Beanie -who can play also. SC is not without their warts and there are several areas where I believe we are advantaged and where we can make some hay....they are a pretty young team. An inexperienced QB making just his what 3rd or 4th start playing behind an oline returning just 1 from last year with 4 1st year starters, 3 of which are Sophs playing against our defense which is about as far from what they've experienced from UVa as the outer galaxies are from Earth. It's fair to say that collectively they ain't ever seen anything like what they're gonna see Saturday. Sanchez is likely going to face pressure all game long. How they handle our pressure from the front four, how they respond to our blitz packages and how Sanchez makes decisions under fire is going to be critical. A couple of picks say 3 or 4 would be nice.... I do think that we will have to execute very well on offense, put together some sustained drives, not put the defense in bad situations continuously, take care of the football and give 'em a blow once in a while is going to be very important. I am not optimistic how well we'll be able to play offensively without Wells, but I do know they are gonna have their hands full with our defense as well.....it may well be a low scoring defensive struggle. I think our defense is ready to carry this team and I think they are quite capable. I can't believe I'm not on a plane right now....but my 11 year old daughter decided she needed to have a birthday party on September 13!
