MJ should be doing well at Sam Houston... he took about a third of his last A&M team with him. Once that talent leaves, he'll probably drop off some. Totally agree with Larry - MJ is not a good "game manager". Our last visit to the CWS told me all I needed to know. His total refusal to play small ball when it was needed got us booted early... And I was at the Houston series Larry mentioned... ugh! RE: Faith in RC. The only reason any of us was not thrilled with the Rob Childress hire was how the whole situation went down. Wayne Graham CALLED stating he was interested in the job, and Byrne totally gave him the brush. How can you at least not listen to a guy that won a NC at RICE?!?! BB made slight overtures to guys like Horton at CSF to buy time while he waited for NU to finish the season. Once that was done it was clear he hired who he had wanted all along. We are very happy with the improvements we are seeing, and how our pitching is finally starting to come around (Childress was touted as a great developer of pitching). The offense is MUCH more aggressive, and puts pressure on the other team in ways our previous teams never dreamed of. I think we have a winner, but the process of getting him wasn't perfect.
Scott, Tough loss to Rice last night in extra innings! Three infield errors did not help. A&M now has a lot of pressure on them to win the next two games. Don
Don.. <t>For whatever crazy reason we here in Houston did not get the Aggie/Rice game except for cutins. Just makes no sense as the series has been sold out since Monday. The errors killed them. That was a game for the taking for A&M and really hurts.</t>
Larry my sister has DishNetwork and I was out there last night, we got it. I have DirecTV and while i wasn't home to watch it, I did see it listed on one of the ESPN Alternate channels.
Why did the Michigan/Oregon State Regional just start up yesterday when everybody else was finishing?
