    I keep asking myself, how bad are the D backs than can't beat our starters out. I expected them to have leg braces or walking casts. They make up for their lack of speed by being unable to hit when the finally get within arms length of the opposition. How anyone could have voted ND #2 to start the season with these DBs is beyond me.

    Gators should have lost.

    Turnovers: UF 3, Vandy 1
    Total Yards: UF 330, Vandy 391

    UF, Mich, Ohio State all struggled with inferior competition, WVa. loses. ND give us too many points to a bad UNC team....not a lot of big wins in the top 10 so far. Texas only up 3-0 after 1 qtr vs Ok State.

    Should have lost is pretty strong Terry for a team that was ahead 25-6 heading into the 4th quarter and was never behind in the game.

    Maybe Michigan should have lost to Ball State? Should have lost and saved Letterman all those nickels?

    I'll ammend that to good teams win games that they have been outplayed! That's why it's the scoreboard and not the box score that counts.

    But you have to admit Gators again look less than impressive on offense. From what I've seen today Texas would eat up the Gators and really should jump the Gators in the polls. Doubt if they will though.

    I know its part of college football

    <t>but 'style points' is just BS. Its about winning the games on your schedule.<br/>
    <br/>
    ND is taking flack for playing North Carolina, but no one wants to talk about that game being scheduled when UNC had a coach by the name of Mack Brown and were winning 10 games a year.<br/>
    <br/>
    Just win. We are getting to that time of year where the human polls aren't voting their real feelings, they are voting to counter the computers and attempting to overcome things like strength of schedule. There's just waay too much hype and not enough substance.<br/>
    <br/>
    Texas has had their moments in which they look more than human. Some teams seem to put just enough lipstick on the pig to get by, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.</t>

    Hey UNC almost beat Wake on the road and Wake is beating Boston College tonight so maybe they have a bad record but they are playing with a lot of heart after the firing of their coach.

    I guess you think Nebraska would "eat up" the Gators too because they should have beat Texas a couple of weeks ago and Texas was lucky to win that one.

    Yeah I do, I think the Gators could not win in Lincoln in the cold and the snow that Texas won in.

    Meyer does know about those conditions...it's those Gator players who've never seen it...at least a lot of our players Colt McCoy included are from N.Texas and know cold and some snow....those boys from Fla would be really really cold...it would affect them mentally.

    I remember those NFL playoff games where superior L.A. Rams teams would have to go to Green Bay and Minn and play late season or playoff games...it's the edge that allowed the Vikings to get to so many Super Bowls where they got to play in warm weather and lost their advantage and their for the game!!

    BTW ...Texas is rolling vs Ok State. Colt McCoy having another great game will most likely end the year as having the greatest season at QB of any freshman in NCAA history. He's just getting better and better.

    I would very much like to see a Gator/Texas game. It would be very interesting and a great matchup I think. It won't happen though. We are doomed to play Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl.

    If Florida is lucky enough to win the SEC then I think ND is a likely opponent in the Sugar Bowl provided the Irish win out or maybe lose a squeaker to USC.

    Florida's pass rush vs. the ND passing game should be interesting if that happened.

    I think it was just one of those days in November as to the close games.

    Ohio State played a good, solid first half and then sort of went to sleep. On the other hand Illinois never gave up the ship and almost ended up with a big upset.

    That is why I love to watch college football, you really never know what is going to happen on any given Saturday.

    Brady Quinn certainly didn't lose any ground in the Heisman race, maybe gained some.

    Ball State would be 0-10 at Vandy and Illinois would go maybe 2-10 this year at a much improved Vanderbilt and yet Florida doesn't get a pass on such a tough Sat. where a win is a win. Herbstriet on ESPN even says it's so but then again he is a Big Ten homer in reality.

    Vandy lost by 2 to Arkansas and three to Bama and beat Ga in Athens.

    No way BallSt and Illinois even gets close to those feats. In fact Herbstreit said before the games on Sat., that UF was the one-loss team with the best chance of going down.

    Vandy never led....was never really a threat until they were trying a onsides kick with 2 minutes left.....that failed.

    I am very satisfied that Florida took care of business and can book a trip to the SECCG because of what they accomplished on the field.

    Brady Quinn is in great position. Most of his stats exceed Smith already and Smith has played one more game.

    This is not a slight on Smith but he is playing on unquestionably the best team in the country in an offense loaded with weapons. Quinn is playing in basically a one dimensionsl offense behind an under achieving line and he is taking a beating.

    George,

    I think you hit the nail on the head with your analysis.

    Both Smith and Quinn are fine QB and it will be interesting to see how the votes stack up, assuming no more defeats.

    Team with the best record will give their Heisman Canidate the edge.

    If the Heisman Trophy goes to Smith, I certainly would not complain. He would deserve the award, no question about it. IMO, a large part of the Heisman qualification is how well your team does and how much you had to do with its success. In this regard, both Smith and Quinn stand far above the rest of the field regardless of the statistical comparison.

    Having said that, I'm pulling for my guy.
