Report: After Being Re-Elected, Obama Asked His Top Aides How To Govern Without Congress… He really is a wannabe dictator. Via Washington Examiner: Politico’s Glenn Thrush reports that after President Obama won re-election, he tried to find out ways of pushing his second term agenda without the Republican-led Congress: “Guys, I don’t want politics to be a limit of what you recommend to me,” Obama told senior aides David Plouffe, Lew, Dan Pfeiffer and Pete Rouse a couple of weeks after his reelection, according to a White House aide with direct knowledge of the meeting. “Let’s come up with an agenda, then let’s figure it out from there as best we can,” he said, prodding them to adopt a more muscular approach to the use of executive power. “We can’t let the driving force of what we pass be Congress.”
Obama Forced To Cancel Chicago Democrat’s “Champion Of Change” Award After FBI Begins Corruption Probe… Wait, a Chicago Democrat is corrupt? I guess there’s a first for everything. Via Politico: The Chicago alderman who was supposed to receive an award as a Champion of Change on Monday, has been removed as an honoree for now, the Chicago Tribune reported. Alderman Joe Moore will no longer receive the award from the White House until the results of an FBI ethics probe into his office is known. “We did not honor him as a Champion of Change today and will hold that honor until we know the results of his investigation,” the official told the Tribune on Wednesday. Moore, who is a veteran alderman, thinks of the probe as unfair and is disappointed that it has cost him the award. He has denied all allegations against him. On the day he was scheduled to get the award, an inspector general report accused Moore of paying two employees more than he should have after they were fired, saying that he paid one of them “hush money” to not speak of anything in the office.
Obama: “Economy Would Be Much Better Off” With More Government Workers… Could he be any more clueless? Via CNS News: President Barack Obama – citing the job losses since he took office — said “the economy would be much better off,” unemployment would be 6.5 percent and the national deficit would be in decline if there were more federal, state and local government workers. “If those layoffs had not happened, if public sector employees grew like they did in the past two recessions, the unemployment rate would be 6.5 instead of 7.5,” Obama said. “Our economy would be much better off, and the deficit would still be going down because we would be getting more tax revenue.” Obama spoke Tuesday at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he promoted plans he said would help the middle class such as corporate tax reform, increased federal spending on infrastructure, more education spending, public-private partnerships and rolling back the sequester. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/obama-economy-would-be-much-better-more-government-workers
Ah, It’s Good To Be King: Obama Begins Vacation The better question is when has he stopped being on vacation? Obama takes every weekend off to play golf. If you check his schedule, most of the time, he isn’t checking in to “work” until about 11 am, and there are frequently no real work events scheduled. Unlike George W. Bush who used to wake up early, arrive to work at 6:45, have the daily Presidential briefing at 7 am (yes, that’s when the daily briefing was in fact daily) and then work throughout the day. At a time when he is claiming the evils of sequester, it is just a bit insensitive to jet off to tony Martha’s Vineyard to spend millions of our dollars. Oh, and did I mention that the kids are coming later, therefore, more money to jet them there, as opposed to simply all going together. Via USA Today: President Obama and his family are heading to Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday for a week of rest and relaxation, but not before facing the ritual partisan grumblings that presidential vacations are extravagant and waste taxpayer money. While Congress is in the midst of its own five-week break, Republican officials haven’t missed the opportunity to question the president for heading to the upscale Massachusetts community at a time when automatic cuts to the federal budget have left the Defense Department and other agencies furloughing employees. Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah, said no one begrudges the president taking some time with his family. But Stewart, who earlier this year introduced a resolution calling on Obama to skip vacations until the White House restored public tours — mothballed as a result of across-the-board federal cuts known as sequestration— suggested the president’s trip to the upscale community in Chilmark, Mass., appears “tone deaf.” “Most of the people in my district could never afford to visit Martha’s Vineyard, and those who could would feel uncomfortable vacationing in a place that has a reputation for being for the elite,” said Stewart in a telephone interview from his district. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2013/08/08/obama-marthas-vineyard-clinton-bush-fdr-vacation/2632979/
To this day we don't know where he was during the attack in Benghazi. Someone gave the order for our forces to stand down. Probably the White House butler. He's the only one actually working there these days.
EPA Chief Vows To Bypass Congress And Enact Global Warming Policies By Decree… All hail the Imperial President! Via Washington Times: EPA chief Gina McCarthy said Wednesday that the Obama administration is finished waiting for Congress to act on climate change and plans to bypass the legislative branch in developing a federal response. Ms. McCarthy, who was confirmed last month as Environmental Protection Agency administrator, cited President Obama’s June 25 speech at Georgetown University, in which he unveiled his Climate Action Plan and vowed to make combatting climate change a priority of his second term. Mr. Obama gave “what I really think is a most remarkable speech by a president of the United States,” said Ms. McCarthy in remarks at the University of Colorado Boulder. “Essentially, he said that it is time to act,” she said. “And he said he wasn’t going to wait for Congress, but that he had administrative authorities and that it was time to start utilizing those more effectively and in a more concerted way.” http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/aug/14/climate-change-obama-epa-plan-action-sans-congress/#ixzz2c4V8AAXZ
We don't need no stinkin' legislative branch. It is staggering that this incompetent boob can get away with this kind of stuff but Congress is in recess like... all the time.
