Yeah, I'm with you all, I think there is an open Senate seat in Florida for 2010. 3 Heismans, 3 NCs, NFL MVP, Florida Senator, President...go Timmy go!!! 8)

More of a team stat but an important one nonetheless in the SEC:

"Tebow’s gridiron gallantry also enabled Florida to take a 4-2 edge over the Tide in six SEC title tilts."

    Tim,

You know better than to dare critique Tebow, or have the audacity to suggest that he isn't the next Heisman trophy winner and sure fire successful NFL QB.

The thing that cracks me up about Gator fans is they don't see the relationship between Tebow's greatness and the quality of their team. The more the media portrays this guy as superman, and the sole reason that they win... the more that should actually hurt them. If the legend is true, and it may be, then this team is one NFL declaration away from being mediocre.

    Corey,

I know I'm probably making the gator fans mad but really....it's just gets to be too much after a while. I don't mean anything personal to them.

I don't have any problem recognizing the guy is a VERY talented college football player, obviously he is the difference between them winning or losing yesterday and a HUGE part of why they are in the NC game.

I'm sure the guy is a good person and all that but they just seem to go overboard with the lovefest sometimes. I Probably should just stay away form any Tim Tebow subjects anyway. I'll go away, for now.

    Don't know .... don't care .... doesn't matter ....... won't guess and speculate like others.

With TT at QB, 12-1, another SEC title, and close to #1 in the nation.

    :)

Then how are we to determine his value to your team and college football?

    Answer honestly, if you can.

Corey, this remark is pure bullsh** and down deep I think you know it.

In the first place the article or me who posted it didn't say he was going to win the Heisman or be a great NFL QB. It simply was an article about what kind of human being he is.

The think that sometimes cracks me up about you is how you can make some sort of transition like you did above from an honest article about Tebow to you can't talk to Gator fans.

You are probably right that you can't talk to Gator fans when you make up crap like you did above.

Tim's remarks were really petty and mean spirited, yours were close behind.

You are right that we have a really good team, but what you don't seem to grasp is just how much Tebow has to do with that. Would we still be ranked high and have a good season without him. No doubt. Would we be as close as we are to perhaps being in the BCS Championship game without him? I doubt it seriously.

The real point with me any way about Tebow is what a quality person he is.

The point about you and Timmy is how quick and willing you are to try and rain on other peoples parade.

    Just sayin!

    Nah, nothing personal.

You think some of just get a bit carried away about a person we really respect and somehow find it necessary to make disparaging remarks about him.

Well an observation I might have about you Timmy my boy is that I think you are so frustrated with the Notre Dame situation that it seems to bother you when other fans might have the audacity to be upbeat about their situation.

You don't have to stay away, you can make whatever comments you want to make but just let it be known that I reserve the right to make my observation about comments that I have a problem with.

Turnabout is fair play and I think like you said I'll probably stay away from this topic myself because some of the petty remarks kind of got me irritated.

Perhaps I should go to a Notre Dame topic instead and gloat about you guys pain?

I think I won't do that though because I respect to much most of the Notre Dame fans here.

Given that Florida won so many games by so many points it's hard to say for sure just how much of a difference Tebow actually made.

Yesterday he was huge...very huge in the 4th quarter.

You're right. Not only is he one of the greatest players to ever suit up (a point I agree with you on), but the team is so remarkably talented that they wouldn't skip a beat if he were to go down.

    You win, you're right.

My point is... there just might be others out there... but I guess not. If someone posted this about another school and another player, I have a feeling you'd be reading the stuff you write in a different light.

You know what Corey, I don't care about winning a discussion with you and I will tell you that you don't know me very well if you believe your last paragraph.

For instance with the agony that Notre Dame fans have been going through I've been very careful to not open any wounds or make much in the way of negative comments.

And while our team is talented I believe that Tebow has put an extra dimension to our team with his talent and leadership.

I wouldn't describe Tim Tebow as the greatest college player in a long time, but he is a great college player. As far as this comment goes...
I'm not sure if Corey is saying that Tebow looks better because he has so many great players around him or what. But I would say that most Heisman winners of the last 20 or 30 years are also on great team. Not all for sure, Barry Sanders wasn't, Ricky Williams wasn't, Tim Brown wasn't but Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush were surrounded by so much talent it was incredible. Would they have been as great if they had played for a good team instead of a team of HS and Paradea AA's.

I still feel McCoy is as deserving as Tebow or that OU kid, but they are deserving as well.

    tebow

<t>let me say this and then I'll just leave it alone. Tebow is a fine player on a very good team. I'm sure he is a fine young man also. All the hype just seems a little much at times for me. I'm sure if I was a "UF" fan it would be different.</t>

Terry, I agree with you that there are 3 and maybe 4 players deserving of the Heisman this year. I'm comfortable with any one of them.

Actually my prediction for Tebow is 2nd place. Bradford's performance last night may have been to much for McCoy or Tebow.
