Not discounting the Gator defense but I saw an unimaginative LSU offense with a basic running package and passing scheme and lead by a truly poor QB. They stunk.

But then again, I HAVE been watching the Irish offense all year so perhaps I'm not being fair. 8)

George, have you been watching the Irish defense also? :)

    Just kidding.

I'm watching breakfast with the Gators where they have a edited replay of the previous days games. I'm sure all of you will be shocked to know that on the pass play for the td they didn't show the replay where Riley grabbed the jersey of the defender.

Just an oversight I'm sure. :)

I played enough football to remember the "techniques" that were taught to gain an advantage. It's only cheating if you get caught. What Riley did is nothing more than the product of good coaching.

And Bill, I have watched the Irish defense all year so be careful about challenging me on defensive prowess; I'm an expert on bad defense

Granted, but a penalty nonetheless. Very favorable no call for the guys who seemingly always get hosed by the zebras......

I guessing that if the refs would have seen Cooper's move they would have called it.

There is a difference between not seeing and ignoring.

Otherwise it seemed the refs called things on both sides and did ignore a helmet to helmet hit on both teams.

    Dave,

That's what we've been saying for years. Glad to see you can now see it.

The only change I would make George is that it's only a penalty if you get caught. :)

I think you were kind of saying the same thing about the Irish defense I was George. No insult meant but it isn't so great this year. I've seen plenty of years where the Gators needed to score a lot of points to win also. So far this year you guys are doing that.

Now Cindy, aren't nurses like us Engineers and allowed to be poor spellers?

Point well taken Tom but I am of the opinion that every game is called differently....with varying degrees of professionalism and skill.

After all these are humans calling the games....with all of their vagaries and a broad range of ability between them.

the lack of consistency is laughable here Dave. That play took place right in front of an official. He did look right at it. Had that play gone against you, I assure you that you would have posted a screen shot of the play with the official staring right at it.

Like George, I agree that its only a penalty if it gets called. Yours, and Danielson's, explanations of it are almost attempts to justify it. Like LSU should have known all they have to do is this.. That's bullsh*t. They got away with it. Your refusal to admit that this was one of those games in which the refs handed you a whole lot of gift baskets is high comedy.

You make a concession but then the entire rest of your posts flies in the face of what you just said.

You just will not admit that sometimes the refs screw you and some time they screw the other team.

For you it's like... the refs are either screwing UF OR it's at least an even situation...but UF never gets the clear benefit of bad officiating. That's just crap.
