Hey Kp just trying to get jacked for this game.......a game I think now will be competitive whereas 3 weeks ago I had only trepidation.

I would of course watch if the line were 25 points ( same margin as last year) but it seems more compelling to watch with a line of 4-5 points and I think the game will play out that way.

I did find it interesting that UF outgained Alabama last year in spite of the score......holding the Tide to under 280 yards of offense.

Here is a good assessment of the game......good assessment......bad result:

    From Charlie Weis:

"This is the first time in a while we've got guys back at tight end, got guys that are bumped up at receiver — they're back, the running backs are all set, the line is in good shape,” he said. “We're pretty healthy going into this game.”

    I like it........GO Gators!!

Oh it's at the Swamp, well the Tide is used to a bigger noiser crowd so the Swamp shouldn't be too hard on them. :)

When I think back through the years......and LSU and Tenn both can attest to this......when UF has been underdogs at the Swamp in years when the Gators had a good team the Swamp crowd seems to have been at it's loudest.....rowdiest and the Gators have responded with some big wins over the two teams I mention above and I was present at most of those wins even though I lived in Michigan.

I expect the Swamp will be cranking this Sat......the decibels way up there and the young Qb McCarron's nerves will get quite a test.....sorta like the situation John Brantley found himself in last year at Bama.

The games I mentioned above were defined usually on pick 6 plays by the Gator defense or by long TD plays by the offense and if UF is to win this Sat. I expect McCarron to throw one to us or Demps/Rainey to break one or both of those things to happen.

Win or lose the crowd will be jacked sky high and loud.

Apparently Chollie had his own presser yesterday with the media:

“You play fundamental football and you have to go ahead and throw the kitchen sink at them. They're going to get the kitchen sink.
“You guys have been writing about holding things back. Well, you won't have to worry about that this week. They're going to get plenty.”

Go Chollie....You Da man......at least as Gator OC  :D

    MCG,
For Alabama, the only offensive stat that is important is turnovers. We don't count on offense to win. We need our offense to not turn the ball over. Our defense will make or break this game for us!

    I agree Kp.

Last year the guy with the least experience made the biggest mistakes in front of a hostile crowd.

    Let's hope that trend continues!

We have been in Raleigh for the North Carolina Senior Games. They wrap up for us this evening and we will be heading to our daughters house in Gainesville and then on to the Bama game Sat.

I give Alabama the edge but don't count the Gators out.

Having Weis as our OC is something I still have a hard time believing and I am really looking forward to this game.

I have to admit when I see the camera pan on him on the sidelines and he is wearing that Gator shirt I have to do a double-take....it takes some getting used to for sure.

Overheard at an LSU practice in 2004.....Saban speaking to the young defensive coach Muschamp:

Try not," Yoda (Saban ) says. "Do. Or do not. There is no try."

    From Gatorsports:

"In the 21 years since Florida started its incredible run of success and turned from a sleeping bear into a roaring Gator, we have seen UF as a home dog about as many times as we've seen Nick Saban smile at a news conference.

The last time the mighty Gators were underdogs at home was 2003 against FSU. The only other time was in 1999 against FSU. Florida has not been a four-point underdog at home against any team during the last two decades.

But the Gators are at +4 for this one "

This is my 11 point game... fairly confident in my pick. Not saying who yet. However, I am gonna slam the fan(s) of the team I picked if they lose! 8)
