Obama’s America: Million Dollar Lottery Winner Still Collecting Food Stamps

    VerumSerum

There’s video from a local news station at this link, but it’s not embedable. Basically this 24 year old won the lottery for $1 million, bought a new house, a new car and then kept using her food stamps card to shop. The local station confronted her as she was moving in to her new home:
“I thought that they would cut me off, but since they didn’t, I thought maybe it was okay because I’m not working,” she said.

She said she didn’t actually get the full million, because after she took a lump sum, the total dropped down to $700,000. After taxes, it was just more than half a million, Clayton said.

Even still, Clayton said she thinks she still has a right to the $200 a month in state funds.

“I feel that it’s okay because I mean, I have no income and I have bills to pay,” she said. “I have two houses.”

Priceless, yet predictable with this administration leading the transformation of a once proud society accountable for its actions and self-reliant for its means....

IRS Puts The Hit On Tea Parties, Part 2

    Home - by Claudia - March 8, 2012 - 16:00 America/New_York - 8 Comments

IRS cracking down on tea party?
    Chad Groening – OneNewsNow
A Christian law firm is defending nearly 20 tea party organizations from apparent intimidation by the Internal Revenue Service.

As reported recently on OneNewsNow, at the beginning of 2012 tea party organizations across the country began receiving letters from the IRS requesting more information related to their applications for designation as 501(c)(4) non-profit organizations. The letters were apparently sent out after six liberal Democratic senators sent a letter to the IRS commissioner requesting that he investigate whether certain 501(c)(4) groups are engaging in substantial campaign activity, including opposition to any candidate.

The Associated Press says documents provided by some of the groups show the IRS wants painstaking details about the groups’ postings on Twitter and other social networking sites, information on donors and key members’ relatives, and minutes of meetings. The IRS will not comment on specific cases, but says it simply wants to gather enough information to decide if the groups qualify for tax-exempt status. This would require the organizations not to be involved primarily in activities that could influence an election.

David French is a senior counsel at the American Center for Law & Justice, which is representing at least 16 tea party organizations targeted by these letters. He says there appears to be a coordinated effort to intimidate these groups during an election year.

“Quite frankly for a lot of these groups, it’s intimidating,” says French. “And to be clear, these are not groups that have been accused of any wrongdoing. They’re simply groups applying for a status that has been routinely granted to hundreds and hundreds of other groups.”

CBS News/New York Times Poll: Obama Hits New Low — Just 41% Approve of His Job Performance
    [IMG]
(CBS News) — President Obama’s approval rating has hit the lowest level ever in CBS News polling, according to the latest CBS News/New York Times survey. The drop may be partially attributable to rising gas prices.

Just 41 percent of Americans approve of the job Mr. Obama is doing as president, according to the poll, conducted from March 7 to 11. Another 47 percent disapprove of his performance, up from 41 percent last month.

Mr. Obama’s approval rating was 50 percent last month.

The average U.S. price of a gallon of gasoline has jumped 12 cents over the past two weeks. The poll found that most Americans, 54 percent, believe gas prices are something a president can do a lot about.

Americans have historically felt that a president can control gas prices, though experts attribute changes to a variety of factors, many outside of a president’s control. They also felt this way when gas prices spiked during the administration of former President George W. Bush.

When asked Tuesday by CBS Pittsburgh affiliate KDKA whether he can impact gas prices, Mr. Obama said, “Understandably people are frustrated when gas prices are going up, and there are things we can do, but they’re not going to result, provide results overnight.”

What up vassals?! Surf’s up, and Barry is preparing for his third annual Summer of Recovery. With a national news media that puts the Soviet era’s Pravda and Izvestia to shame, the O-conomy will be reported as improving and moving in the right direction. Unfortunately for Obama and his media cheerleaders, all of us that pay for our own food and pump our own gas, know better. We know he’s jumping the shark, big time. –

Report: GE CEO And Head Of Obama’s Jobs Council Jeff Immelt To Jump Ship And Vote For Romney…
    [IMG]
    Too good to be true?

    Via Business Insider:

General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt, the head of President Obama’s Jobs Board, plans to vote for Mitt Romney, Fox Business’ Charles Gasparino reports (via Bloomberg).

If true, the news would represent a major embarrassment to the Obama administration, which had elevated Immelt in their pursuit of private sector employment growth.

Gasparino has not spoken with Immelt, but said sources close to the G.E. chief said he was leaving Obama’s side.

The president named Immelt the head of his panel of economic advisers in January as a replacement to Paul Volcker, the former Federal Reserve chairman.

Report: GE CEO And Top Obama Economic Adviser Jeff Immelt “Appalled By President’s Class-Warfare Rhetoric”…
    [IMG]

    Via NY Post:

Back when he agreed to advise the Obama administration on economics, General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt told friends that he thought it would be good for GE and good for the country. A life-long Republican, Immelt said he believed he could at the very least moderate the president’s distinctly anti-business instincts.

That was three years ago; these days Immelt is telling friends something quite different.

Sure, GE has managed to feast on federal subsidies, particularly the “green-energy” giveaways that are Obamanomics’ hallmark.

But Immelt doesn’t think he’s had anywhere near as much luck moderating the president’s fat-cat-bashing, left-leaning economic agenda of taxing businesses and entrepreneurs to pay for government bloat.

Friends describe Immelt as privately dismayed that, even after three years on the job, President Obama hasn’t moved to the center, but instead further left. The GE CEO, I’m told, is appalled by everything from the president’s class-warfare rhetoric to his continued belief that big government is the key to economic salvation.

Records Show Largest Obama Campaign Donors Last Month Were Evil Wall Street Bankers From Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs…
    [IMG]
Makes you wonder, have they ever heard an Obama speech (the majority of which rail against Wall Street)?

    Via Bloomberg:

President Barack Obama’s largest campaign donors last month included employees of Wells Fargo & Co., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Goldman Sachs Group Inc., according to an analysis of Federal Election Commission records.

Their support indicates that Wall Street, which gave Obama $16 million for his successful 2008 White House run, is opening its checkbook again for the president. The contributions helped Obama raise $21 million in February, including $6.5 million transferred from a joint fundraising committee with the Democratic National Committee.

“The reality is the election has evolved from being Obama versus Obama to Obama versus a Republican alternative,” said Robert Zimmerman, a Democratic National Committee member and Obama fundraiser. “Now that contributors, party activists and citizens are seeing the choice, you’re seeing more support emerge for Barack Obama.”

Obama has raised $161 million for his re-election and entered March with $84.7 million in the bank. Four years ago, engaged in a primary battle with Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, he had raised $197 million by the end of February and had close to $40 million in cash.

Obama To Tout His “Green Energy” Investments At Solyndra-Like Solar Company Employing 5 Workers While Relying on $54 Million In Taxpayer Subsidies…
    [IMG]
He couldn’t have picked a more fitting venue.

    Via Nevada Journal:

President Obama will tout investments in “renewable” energy Wednesday at the local Copper Mountain Solar 1 plant, although the plant has only five full-time employees.

The plant, owned by San Diego-based energy company Sempra, was built in late 2010 at a cost of $141 million. Funding included $42 million in federal-government tax credits and $12 million in tax-rebate commitments from the state of Nevada.

Construction of the plant involved over 300 part-time jobs, but currently only five full-time employees operate the plant, a Sempra spokeswoman confirmed. That comes out to $10.8 million in tax-dollar subsidies per employee.

Solar 1 is the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the country and is regarded as a “revenue generator” by Sempra. According to the Las Vegas Sun, Boulder City expects to receive over $60 million in lease revenue from the plant.

Obama Blames Congress For Solyndra Loan Fiasco, “This Was Not Our Program”…
    [IMG]
I guess that’s why the White House was involved in helping to rewrite the terms of Solyndra’s loan.

    Via Politico:

“This was not our program, per se. Congress — Democrats and Republicans — put together a loan guarantee program because they understood historically that when you get new industries, it’s easy to raise money for startups, but if you want to take them to scale, oftentimes there’s a lot of risk involved, and what the loan guarantee program was designed to do was to help start up companies get to scale,” [Obama] said.

White House Documents Show Obama Officials Heavily Involved In Preparing For Collapse of Solyndra…
    [IMG]
And yet just last week Obama tried to claim this wasn’t his program.

(E2 Wire) — Several key White House offices were involved with the Obama administration’s messaging plans and other preparations as the collapse of the taxpayer-backed solar company Solyndra was imminent, newly released documents show.

The latest White House documents delivered to House Republicans on Friday again highlight the extent to which senior administration officials braced for the fallout as Solyndra — a company President Obama had personally visited — was about to go under.

A White House memo that noted the danger of “imminent bankruptcy” at the end of August 2011 says, “OMB, DPC and NEC have been working with press and OLA to be prepared for this news to break.”

Acronym translation: OMB is the Office of Management and Budget, DPC is the Domestic Policy Council, NEC is the National Economic Council and OLA is the Office of Legal Affairs.

The document, an update on Solyndra’s $535 million Energy Department (DOE) loan guarantee, notes that $527 million had been disbursed and that DOE believed no more funds should be alloted.

This president's myopic push toward re-engineering us from a democracy to a socialist society is often betrayed by his amateurish attempts at cover up. He is nothing more than a useful idiot.... who really pulls the strings?
