Recruiting is already changing. I think NIL is the biggest tool now.

Buffet putting his big money cannon at use for his beloved Huskers would be a scary thing for the rest of the B10.

2008. Just moved back from Tucson, AZ to take a golf job at the oldest country club west of the Missouri: fcomaha.com
U.S Open Champs Bobby Jones and Johnny Goodman walked these fairways.
Opened up the golf shop one morning after I had just started there, April 2008. The GM came down and wanted me to come upstairs and meet a club member who was having breakfast before his staff meeting. It was still very early, about 0630 hrs CST, and the GM brought me over to a table seated by one older gentleman who looked like a cross of Truman Capote and the Monopoly guy. The GM said "Mr. Buffett, this is our newest asst. Golf Pro AJ...I immediately became intimidated. Warren then asked me if I drink coffee, and I said sure sir, and he said have a seat and tell me your story. After I struggled through 5 minutes of here's AJ, and trying to segue the conversation over to him, I asked, so what's new with you Mr. Buffett, and he said, well, I just bought a big pack of gum. A big pack of gum? I asked, and he said yes, we (Berkshire-Hathway) just bought Wrigley's gum company. I had to get back downstairs, so I thanked him, shook his hand and went back to work. About 3 hrs later, I just happened to see him leaving after his company meeting in his car. This was 2008, and the richest man in the world at the time, was leaving one of the most affordable, if not the most affordable golf clubs in Omaha, NE....in a 1995 lincoln Town Car. At that time, he also lived in the same house since the 1950's. That speaks volumes folks.

Great story. I agree that his total avoidance of flaunting his wealth is admirable. Were you tempted to make a standing offer to buy the LTC from him when he decided to sell it? I love those old American frigates and if someone gave me grief for buying it, I think the response that I “personally purchased this from Warren Buffet” would shut that person’s mouth.

Nebraska picked up former Texas starter at QB, Casey Thompson. He's a dual threat kid who had his moments at Texas.

Good luck to him, I hope he's a big piece of the puzzle at Nebraska.

Turner Gill. Obviously this was tounge in cheek, but broke our hearts he did with that last pass. But I guess we'll give the new Texican a fair shot.

Frost will need to beat the orange Charmin out of him, but after that he'll probably be pretty good.

I see that the Neb punter entered the Portal, after seeing that Thompson was coming to Lincoln. He no doubt figured that with Casey at the helm the Huskers might never need to punt in 2022!
