Biden admin would be well served to pay close attention to the debacle occurring in the UK as the Bank of England was practically forced to step in and save the currency from free fall after a series of puzzling and at best ill-advised policy moves from the new government. Policy matters......stay tuned

Biden set the tone for what we are experiencing now. World events will always occur but it is the reaction of the powers in the United States that set the tone. The world sees an addle-brained President being led around like a blind man. A President who only gets animated when scolding his own people. A president who works a three day work week. They see a Congress that is 100% dysfunctional. They see a populace that is totally divided along political and social lines. They see a populace willingly being led down the path to socialism, a people happy to sit home and cash handout checks. They see the criminal element in this country rapidly seizing control of the streets of every major city and drugs slowly bringing the nation to its knees. They see a military that, through no fault of their own has not won a conflict outright since 1945. in short, they see a paper tiger. The world's problems will always be there but never has the United States been less equipped to lead the way.

Could Putin have had a better economic ally than that inept liar in the White House? By crippling the US oil industry, turning the US from an energy exporter into an importer he's greatly increased the value of Putin's oil. Despite ahole's claim that a boycott of Russia would greatly damage the ruble, the opposite has happened. Just like everything else he proclaims, it's the opposite.
Europe is now being severely damaged by soaring energy costs. Thanks to the climate zealots, they're unable to meet their energy needs because of the Russian boycott and the green agenda. And as they barrel headlong into disaster they're now waging a war on fertilizers which is reducing farming output. Such a policy has already led to the overthrow of the Sri Lanka leadership and protests by farmers in the Netherlands are for similar reasons.
We have an administration that wants to lead us down the path of economic destruction. Just imagine if Florida was relying on solar and wind energy for most of its electric needs today. Our grid would be severely damaged for months. Just how far would electric emergency vehicles be going in this mess?

The answer is about 200-300 miles.

Not particularly effective if you're working in an area without power for 100 miles.

Loaded trucks don't go near that far. 150 miles would be optimistic.

As I’m currently witness to hundreds of energy repair trucks in the area a majority of their time is spent idling and I’m talking hours. The idea that those trucks could be electric is I’m sorry laughable as there is absolutely no way to charge up a few hundred utility trucks as they drive into a black hole with no power

IMO, common sense would determine that certain rolling equipment like emergency trucks of any kind cannot be electric for reasons Ralph stated above.

Not to mention all the hydraulic pumps that run off them... would be interesting to see how long a battery truck could power the additional equipment (buckets, grapple claws, etc) and still be able to move afterward...

I just saw a report about looters in the ravaged areas of Florida. The Sheriff of Martin County where I have a place sent a contingent over there to help maintain some order. He said the number of looters increases by the day; that steal the emergency generators among everything else they can find. They also steal gasoline out of generators if they left unattended. During Hurricane Sandy here at the shore we had the same problem. My son was a young NJSP road trooper at the time. He was assigned to secure ravaged neighborhoods. He was also assigned two Louisiana state troopers as partners. Now the NJSP has always had a reputation for "firm" application and enforcement of the law and in this situation they were encouraged to deal harshly with looters. My son told me the Louisiana troopers were similarly inclined. He said they caught one looter dressed as the Easter Bunny stealing personal valuables out of a family home that was heavily damaged. The looters were almost always from other areas or states. They streamlined the justice process and after a couple of weeks the word was out that, if you got caught, jail time and a criminal record were the least of your worries. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Looters are some of the lowest forms of life.
Shoot'em all, let God sort 'em out!

So today Meta lost over 30 pts. after a disappointing earnings report. Probably related to the tech slowdown brought about by the Fed. choking off money trying to fight the inflation that started 2 years ago. Mark Zuckerberg owns (according to Google) 367 milliion shares of Meta meaning just today he's lost 11.1 billion. From it's yearly high Meta has lost 250 pts. meaning Zuckerberg who's a big Democratic supporter, has lost about $91,750,000,000. I'd send him a sympathy card but thanks to him and the other tech clowns, I can't afford it.

Nothing like the second biggest bank failure in US history to build your confidence in current economic policy.

It's raining outside. It must be Trumps's fault. Inflation, high interest rates, housing market falling all this is because of the looting of the treasury by the last congress. The upstart tech companies that used that bank could no longer get cheap money and started using their savings for expenses. The bank had invested in treasuries that lost value because of rising interest rates. In today's age folks don't have to go to the bank to empty their accounts they can do it digitally and the rate of withdrawals was swift.

Oh and one last thought, when Biden came in he undid everything Trump did. He's been in over 2 yrs. Why didn't he reverse this banking regulation?
