To be fair Brantley was not 100% at the start of the game and was unable to move laterally at all. In the second half he was limping more and I am certain it negatively affected his accuracy as he was totally off the mark the last two quarters. What disappointed me was there was no back-up that seemed remotely ready to contribute and I don't get that lack of preparation.
Makes no sense Jo'Co......Georgia is a far cry from the "champion" of the SEC.......maybe the SEC EAST......and I agree Boise would beat any of the SEC East members.
I watched this one (man, bye weeks are relaxing!) and I was really disappointed. The quality of overall play was pretty bad. Dropped balls, missed tackles, penalties??? I'm not sure what happened but it was not pretty. :?
Wait until you see the SEC East rep in Atlanta.....wow.....that won't be pretty either. I venture it will be the largest point spread ever in that game......past or future.
Thank God KP said it. (also, why aren't you doing Gamewatch with us KP, you're actually local to me) The SEC East is clearly a step down from the top 2 of the SEC West. Even the West is fairly disappointing. That league is basically a two team race. It's not that the other teams suck, but they don't look to be up to snuff with previous seasons.
Corey, Agreed where is the gamewatch? Auburn does seem to be picking it up a bit. As much as I hate to admit it, they are doing pretty good considering how many seniors they lost.
George, I understand you don't like Weis, but in my opinion he will pay big dividends for the Gators in the future. Before we give Georgia an automatic to the Championship game let's not forget South Carolina. They are the leader now and own the tiebreaker with Georgia. Gators look bad and it is within the realm of possibility that we finish 5-7 and miss a bowl. Vandy may well decide that.
I do think Charlie has potential, but as I've said before Charlie needs an experienced QB in college. In the Pro's with the players able to focus 100% on football and not limited by 20 hours he's better. I don't know how fast your 2 young QB's will absorb all of Charlies offense but it might be the third year before you see the benfit. Also your recruiting will have to reflect the type of player Charlie needs, it's a different type than Urban's spread. He needs big WR's, he needs TE's, he needs a durable TB who can catch the ball on screens, flares, wheel routes as well as run the football. Like every offense he needs an OL that is very good at pass blocking and good at run blocking. He never really got over the hump on the OL, he and his first OL coach never were on the same page, and his 2nd OL coach (your current OL coach) were only together 1 year at ND and it was already too late. Also hopefully Muschamp will instill toughness in your guys, Charlie always talked a good game there but it was just talk. Most thought he just expected the players to react like NFL players. ...but they were college kids. I hope Charlie succeeds, he's a ND guy.
KP, Due to Carson's season, it's been fluid all year depending on the time and place. One of our Gamewatch location hosts is going to Afghanistan Monday. We have been known to get away with using the newsroom from time to time, but that's always unofficial. This past weekend it was at my place in Decatur.
I agree with Terry. There is a lot about him to like. He's proven his ability to build a solid offense. He became a target of the vulturous media with some quotes that came from inexperience 1) as a head coach, and 2) as a head coach in the fish bowl/pressure cooker that is Notre Dame. IMO his head coaching career ended because he could not motivate his teams like successful head coaches do. Given all that, I also agree with Terry that he needs certain types of players to make his offense work successfully. I don't know how this relates to Florida's current personnel but if they (current) don't fit, he will recruit players who do fit. At ND he proved he can recruit top talent.
