Here is an old clip from 1983 where Notre Dame begins it's 13 straight unbeaten string against USC. My friend and former boss is in these clips playing for the Trojans. His name is Bruce Parks and their disaster begins with a fumble by his roommate, Kennedy Pola, who went to Mater Dei. Tsk...tsk...all those nice Catholic boys who chose to attend the wrong school... <object><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Zyj_4osqVYY?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Zyj_4osqVYY?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>
For those with long memories... 1979, Rusty Lisch to Pete Holohan. <object><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MC6o49BEEJk?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MC6o49BEEJk?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>
That win in '83 started the decade of dominance. Before that USC had run off 6 in a row over the Irish.
In a series full of winning streaks, the current trend has the Irish with one-in-a-row, and the next game in South Bend... <object><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zp7O50QnH9Q?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zp7O50QnH9Q?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>

You just know that the return team really were psyched to block for him. Now a days we struggle go bet past the 30.
This is the first time I've had a chance to sit down and watch Jim's last 4 videos. They give me chills. I can't wait to see the Irish on the field again. Something I noticed about last year's USC video, Floyd's blocking. In all the hub-bub about his status as a potential AA WR, I forgot that he's a very good downfield blocker. It doesn't take a scholar to know that open field blocking by WRs and TEs is a vital ingredient to a successful ground game. By the way, I love the Irish music background on the USC drive. It makes the video seem mystical.
Then there was this other time... No team had returned a kickoff against Michigan in 32 years; until Rocket did it twice in one game. <object><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8ht---NAvSY?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8ht---NAvSY?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>

Re: 1973 Sugar Bowl. Outstanding! Did I see names on the backs of the jerseys? I had forgotten about that.

The Irish have got to show it on the field. I for one am tired of watching old black and white clips to relive the glory.
