Ofcourse UGA won't do it again. That's the beauty of it. UGA did it first and it can't be done again. I'm sure the SEC powers have sent out a note to all coaches to prohibit it from being done again. I have to admit it, like it or not, makes Richt look genius. Now it gets put away with the "Run Lindsey Run" call. As for injuries, You didn't hear me making excuses a couple years back when Shockley didn't play. On another note, UGA is just as young as Florida.
Well, I didn't expect you to see them taunting the UF team and fans. Oh, I'm sure you really want to beleve that. LMAO, scoring 50 points against an opponent while following the rules of the game is the same as intentionally directing your team to violate a number of rules, by rushing the field and taunting the opposing team and fans. LOL, "deal with it"? I guess if Urban Meyer had engaged in such a mindless behavior (telling UF players to storm field and taunt the opponent's players and fans), that's all I could say in defense of it.
Hah ... if Herbie and the folks who read ESPN say the celebration was "okay" .... then I know I'm correct in and extremely comfortable with taking the position I have.
 You need to seriously and honestly ask yourself ......... "to whom" and if you want to be part of that population of folk. Given the circumstances leading up to that game, if you were in Mark Richt's position, could you bring yourself to make the same horrendously poor decision?
At this point it's much todo about nothing as far as I am concerned. It should spice up the game next year.

I'm with Bill on this one. It is a compliment when coaches like Richt feel that Florida as an opponent is worthy of pulling out the stops to gain a desperate edge. Kentucky had a record crowd for the Florida game. Teams and fans get geeked over the Gators. ( KP excepted ) I will be sad if and when the day comes that is not the case.
Just how smart is Mark Richt? http://blutarsky.wordpress.com/2007/10/30/just-how-smart-is-mark-richt/
All I can say about that article Tailback is wow. To start with Franz Beard does not run the site, Ray Hines does that. Franz is the managing editor of Gator Country I believe. But back to the Georgia writer! Turned the whole psychological edge around? I hardly think so. Richt won this game with a really fired up team, his overall record against Florida is not very good and I just don't think this turns things in Georgia's favor. Just one fans opinion.
Ditto what Bill said. I'm only chiming in because I watched the game on TV. If I had not seen it I would not have an opinion.
Spurrier comments on "The Celebration", takes a swipe at Urban.. . http://www.wltx.com/FYI/story.aspx?storyid=55137
I read the article. I don't see it as a swipe at all. He said IF the FL coach knew about it.....how could he possibly have anticipated what happened? Spurrier's comments are nothing more than saying, If this......then that. Not a swipe.
No Tailback, I read this as Spurrier saying now that he realizes someone might do something this dumb in the future he will try to turn it to his advantage by getting some members of the other team suspended. And by the way, the touchdown that started this was under review when Georgia took this action. Do you realize that if the play had been ruled not a touchdown that Georgia would then have had a 30 yard penalty out to the 31 yard line? Sorry but that was not only bending the rules, it wasn't very bright and could have bitten Richt in the butt. But hey, alls well that ends well and I guess the end justifies the means. Georgia was better that day and didn't need to do what they did that ended up with your coach writting an apology and probably drawing closer watching in the future.
PS, that was a tongue in cheek remark by Spurrier pointing out the pitfalls of what Richt did. By the way, I loved his apology. I didn't believe it but loved it anyway.
You may be right GB but Spurrier said "that's what we'd do". The video states ... RAW VIDEO: Steve Spurrier Says What He Would Have Done If Georgia's Players Had Celebrated Against His Team Anyway who knows? As for your comment about Richt not being sincere, I think you're right 100%. That's why this thing is so genius. He doesn't have to be sincere. He's now laughing it off with his players. It's a week later and it's still being talked about. I think the intention was to get in to the Gators heads. Did it work? Time will tell. Like it or not, If UGA turns this series around, It will go down as one of the greatest coaching decisions ever and only a few will see it as "bush league".
