harbaugh <r>As an Irish fan you have to think this is the best case scenario for ND as it may bring us a Stanford commit or 2 and keeps him out of Ann Arbor where he would have been a real pain in the butt for us as long as he was there.<br/> <br/> San Fran is great for him...goofy, creepy, off center...yeah.....he'll fit right in. <E></E></r>
Yes...yes...my crystal ball tells me that this could work out perfectly! - Harbaugh out of our face for good. - Harbaugh back in Pete Carroll's face for good! - The Mad Hatter to Michigan. - An unknown stooge to Stanford. I guess Harbaugh really is a NoCally at heart. He grew up in Palo Alto and returned there to coach Stanford. Then he turned down an incredible $8 million per from the Dolphins to accept $5 million per with San Francisco, his boyhood idols. Hell, for $8 million per year I'd coach the USC gay wrestling team...
harbaugh <r>JO'Co,<br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> I think most Irish fans would agree, having Harbaugh at Michigan would have been the worst case scenario. <E>8)</E></r>
I guess Miles is going to interview for the UM job. If he were to take the UM job he is going to be leaving behind an excellent team that has a shot at the Nat'l Championship next year. ...if they can get by Alabama.
I am afraid if Miles takes the Michigan job, he will face similiar problems that Rich Rod Faced. Apparently Lloyd Carr is is tight with Mary Sue Coleman AD, and no way does he and his coilation want Miles to have the job
Bobda has said numerous times that he didn't think Miles would ever coach at Michigan, evidently Miles and Carr have a history and there are some burned bridges. Anybody but a spread coach will have a roster rebuild at UM on offense. I wonder if Miles would be able to talk Chavis into coming north should he take the job. That UM defense surely could use a coach like Chavis, but he's a SEC lifer hard to see him moving north.
Also should Mile leave LSU, that will be a plum job for somebody. The roster is stacked on both sides of the ball. I see that FSU just signed Jimbo Fisher to an extension, no doubt in my mind that was to lock him up if the LSU job comes open. Could Bo Pellini decide that winters in Neb aren't as nice as winters in Baton Rouge? That would be something. I also see that Stanford has expressed an interest in Chris Pedersen the Boise State coach. He hasn't seemed to have much interest in moving though.
Terry, Lloyd retired from his administrative posiion right after Brandon became AD so if Brandon wants Miles and Miles wants the job, the Mad Hatter will be in AA. Miles and Martin were close and it seemed pretty clear that Lloyd did not want Miles in AA. But, Brandon was one of "Bo's boys" and Miles has a lot of support amongst Bo's former players. Factions, factions--a Bo faction, a Lloyd faction, and a Richrod faction. John Adams was right about the destructive power of factions. Miles and Brandon are supposedly going to meet soon. Miles had a press conference where he said the following about this metting: He did not earn the name Mad Hatter by accident.....
coaches <r>Wow. I thought Les would take the job. I guess the wolverines keep looking..as does Stanford. <E></E></r>
