Too much water here, not enough water there.... I always thought that with something like that annual floods in the Mississippi Flood plain, that they need to be able to divert all that water, when needed, to a canal that takes it to a huge dry lake in Arizona for storage and use in the Desert Southwest, or maybe California, West Texas could use it to recharge the aquafiers. Somebody needs to figure that out.
LOL, I just heard on the radio that January rainfall is 476% above normal....Expect a couple minnows and gators on Ft. Myers beach
Just a little wet in areas there Stu , I did see where a 12' American Crocodile was catching a few rays of sun in Cape Coral over the weekend. That's pretty far north for the species... http://www.news-press.com/story/news/2016/02/03/rare-crocodile-makes-home-cape-coral/79774580/
Heard a few things today, for the first time in 20-30 years Sugar is actually pumping back into the lake instead of the opposite, it's that wet....In spite of folklore they never pump into the lake but send their water south except in rare occasions. And that the status of the levy surrounding lake Okeechobee is in REALLY bad shape, there have been some repairs but more of a bandaid, without the lake withdrawals several towns are at risk of a catastrophe resembling 1928... Rumors are just that but there is normally a hint of truth mixed in.... My question is why is the lake levy in that bad shape and why isn't there engineers working on the solution...
By the way George that's an incredible amount of water, I can't imagine the populace is going to stand for it in your area.....
