  It's just my opinion, but I think that Lefties are vastly underestimating the power of cultural memory... When the British and Irish finally sat down to the peace negotiations in 1916, Michael Collins walked into the room. The British general sniffed, "Sir you are nearly 20 minutes late." To which Collins replied, "No general, you are 800 years late." One of my old poly-sci profs in college was a former Navy attaché to the Soviet Union. (The chief spy for the U.S. Navy in Moscow.) He used to tell us his predictions that the Soviet Union would collapse and all of the murders and propaganda of the communists would be in vane. As an example, he cited their campaign to erase religion from Russian society. He pointed out that everyone in that country, men and women, were forced to work every day. Now he looked at us with a mischievous grin and asked a simple question, "If everyone has to work all day, who is watching the children?" The answer of course was "the old babushkas." That's right, the grandmothers. Think about it. Every kid was being taught the religion of the supposedly banned Russian Orthodox Church. They were also taught respect for the memory of the Czar and Russian traditions that went back centuries... That was in 1973. How do his predictions look now? Even Vladimir Putin has criticized Obama for being "un-Christian." He had an old babushka raising him too. The Czar and his family have been buried with full state honors; Russians traditions (and religion) have returned and all the millions who were murdered and tyrannized didn't change a thing. The South will not rise again. It won't have to. The bastards can't bury it deep enough to change anything...
Before cities and states start digging up graves and removing Confederate monuments, they should know that Congress in1958 passed a law that conferred US military veteran status upon those who fought in the Confederate Army or Navy: **************************************************** For the purpose of this section, and section 433, the term 'veteran' includes a person who served in the military or naval forces of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War, and the term 'active, military or naval service' includes active service in such forces. ****************************************************
No problem. The SCOTUS can easily strike that law. just as they've rewritten the rules of golf and redefined marriage.
Toby Keith will be here on Aug 7. There will be about 18,000 tailgating fans at the show and hundreds of Confedrate flags. At the Jersey shore.
