Explanation was that the ref ruled it stopped forward motion. Not sure I agree but there were other questionable calls that went against us. Hate to win on a questionable call but proud of how our guys hung in there missing so many important players.
I agree that was the call. Forward motion seems to be less of a factor now than it used to be. It seems like referees are more hesitant to blow the whistle and let plays run longer because of reviews. That didn't happen in this case though.
Looked at the replay again this AM...a UT player was CLEARLY pulling him and even pulled the arm with the football over the line. Regardless of whether or not you think UT was robbed it was a great stand (Tenn had it first and goal from the 2) and it was a great game. Both teams played their hearts out and we were very lucky to win it...Tenn should be in great shape next year.
What a crazy game. I just watched the replay. Tenn wasn't screwed, it was just an unfortunate call that was easy to understand. That ref probably thought his knee was down. It's happened to all our teams - when the play is ruled dead, replay can't change it.
Irish score first, all passes, moved right down the field. No pressure yet on Jack Coan. That is what the Cowboy defense is known for, sacking the QB. If our OL can hold them off I feel pretty good. I imagine in the next series though that OSU will ratchet up the pressure, they just can't sit back and let Coan pick them apart.
Utes score first on Ohio State up 7-0 and a spectacular catch in the corner of the endzone adds another 7 and the Utes are up to 14-0 right now late 1st qtr.
Yup we went Air Raid today and had the typical result, lots of yards for the QB but we lost. The Pirare would have been proud.
Rose Bowl is a really exciting game. I will say that not having those 2 AA WR's don't seem to have hurt the Buckeye offense. Marvin Harrison Jr and the other WR both look like they are going to be AA next season. A couple of amazing plays by the Utes, the 62 yd TD run by Rising and that exciting KO return by the 24 year old Brian Covey (Mormon Mission) with 2 kids (I think).
